An aircraft management system and method includes a flight plan diversion prediction system including a rerouting control unit that is configured to generate one or more reroute options for an aircraft based on an analysis of a current position of the aircraft, a predicted future position of the aircraft, a current position of an in-flight hazard, and a predicted future position of the in-flight hazard.

Aircraft flight management systems and methods

Aspects herein describe a display system that moves at least a portion of a displayed GUI in response to turbulent motions in a vehicle. In one aspect, the GUI is displayed on a screen that includes an integrated touch sensing region that permits a user to interact with one or more elements in the GUI. However, turbulent motion may cause the user to miss the interactive element or inadvertently touch the wrong element in the GUI. To aid the user to touch the desired portion of the GUI, in one aspect, the display system tracks the movement of a hand or finger of the user to determine its position relative to a screen displaying the GUI and maintains the spatial relationship of the hand or the finger to the GUI during turbulent motions.

Turbulence resistant touch system

An airport computing system is communicatively coupled to a first airplane and to one or more second airplanes over a network system. The airport computing system comprises a plurality of sensors associated with the first airplane. The airport computing system comprises a data module configured to receive data from the first airplane over the network. The data comprises runway data sampled using the plurality of sensors while the first airplane is on a runway. The airport computing system also comprises a parameter module configured to determine one or more parameters that describe a condition for the runway based on the received runway data. The airport computing system further comprises a transmission module configured to transmit the one or more parameters to the one or more second airplanes over the network.

Dynamically determining runway conditions

An instrument panel is identified based on a captured image such as a photograph. A target configuration of the instrument panel is compared with a current configuration of the instrument panel based on the image data. An indication of differences between the target configuration and the current configuration is provided.

Virtual instrument verification tool

A particular method includes sending a taxiing routing message from a device to a vehicle. The taxiing routing message indicates a route assignment associated with an airport. The method also includes in response to receiving an acknowledgment of the taxiing routing message from the vehicle, indicating a status at a graphical user interface. The status is associated with the taxiing routing message.

Systems and methods of airport traffic control

A method for rendering data on a display device is described. Data representative of graphics objects rendered on the display device is received. The data is analyzed to identify white space areas. The white space areas are compared to a display area to be rendered on the display device. The white space areas are areas that are substantially free of displayed objects according to a criterion. Based on the comparison, one or more of the white space areas are identified for rendering the display area. The display area is automatically rendered in the identified white space areas on the display device without user intervention. When the white space areas are insufficient to render the display area, the display area may be automatically rendered based on one or more criteria.
