In an embodiment, a method includes receiving user-behavior data for a plurality of software applications. The method also includes determining activity windows for the plurality of software applications. The method also includes generating a time map of the activity windows. The method also includes detecting a usage pattern, where the usage pattern indicates two or more applications of the plurality of software applications that are used in combination. The method also includes identifying a user-centric workload from the usage pattern. The method also includes generating a user-centric workload specification for the user-centric workload, where the user-centric workload identifies the two or more applications indicated by the usage pattern. The method also includes associating the user-centric workload specification with an optimization trigger and an optimization profile. The method also includes optimizing the user-centric workload in accordance with the optimization trigger and the optimization profile.

In an embodiment, a method of securing remote technical support includes monitoring a computing environment for at least one indicator of remote-control software in the computing environment in accordance with stored authentication settings. The method also includes, responsive to the monitoring, detecting the at least one indicator of remote-control software in the computing environment. The method also includes, responsive to the detection, identifying an authentication profile in the stored authentication settings that is applicable to the at least one indicator of remote-control software. The method also includes executing an authentication workflow in accordance with the authentication profile. Other embodiments of this aspect include corresponding computer systems, apparatus, and computer programs recorded on one or more computer storage devices, each configured to perform the actions of the methods.

Security systems and methods for remote technical support

In an embodiment, a method is performed by an agent installed in a computing environment on a computer system. The method includes monitoring the computing environment for optimization triggers. The method also includes, responsive to detection of an optimization trigger, identifying an optimization profile of a plurality of optimization profiles that is applicable to the optimization trigger. In addition, the method includes temporarily modifying the computing environment in accordance with the optimization profile. Further, the method includes, responsive to the temporarily modifying, monitoring the computing environment for optimization exit triggers. Additionally, the method includes, responsive to detection of an optimization exit trigger, automatically reversing the temporarily modifying.
