A composition for applying onto a road surface and methods for making thereof is disclosed. The composition comprises a binder material of at least a styrenic block copolymer and a resin, which can be pelletized. The SBC is selected from a styrene-isoprene-styrene rubber (SIS) and styrene-isoprene/butadiene-styrene (SIBS); or styrene-ethylene/propylene/styrene-styrene (SEPSS), styrene-ethylene/butylene/styrene-styrene (SEBSS) and mixtures thereof. The binder can be used in road marking compositions or surface treatment compositions when combined with other components such as pigments, glass beads, anti-skid media, fillers, waxes, elastomer/plastomer, and plasticizers.

Roadway surface compositions and pelletized binder materials thereof

A cleaning composition is disclosed comprising a method of cleaning a substrate to remove a residue from the substrate by using a cleaning composition comprising (a) a decarboxylated rosin acid (DCR), and (b) optionally a diluent. The residue is selected from soil, dirt, sand, food, oil, grease, paint, ink, glue, adhesive, sealant, wax, tar, graffiti, asphalt, buffing compounds, cutting fluids, and mixtures thereof. At least 0.3 wt.% of the residue is removed from the substrate per cleaning cycle, based on total weight of the residue present on the substrate. The cleaning composition is stable and is effective in removing the residue from hard or soft substrates.

Biobased cleaning compositions and methods of preparation thereof

A composition for use as a binder system for road marking formulations and methods for making thereof is disclosed. The binder system is provided as pellets. The method provides for making the pelletized binder system, and mixing the pelletized binder system with fillers and other components, heating the mixed ingredients forming into a molten mixture for applying on a road surface. The pelletized binder system comprises at least a resin and an elastomer in one embodiment; at least a resin and a plasticizer in a second embodiment; and at least a resin, an elastomer, and a plasticizer in a third embodiment.

Pelletized road marking binders and related methods

Rosin esters that are both light-colored and color stable may be produced by reacting rosin with an organic compound containing two or more hydroxyl groups each separated from each other by at least four carbon atoms. With appropriate choices for the esterification catalyst and antioxidant(s), the rosin ester may be useful as a tackifier, and can be formulated into an adhesive composition. The adhesive compositions will further comprise an appropriate adhesive polymer.
