Disclosed is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) composition that comprises at least a first high density polyethylene component having a density of 0.940-0.968 g/cmand a melt index Iof 0.5-10.0 dg/min and a melt flow ratio (flow index Iat 190&#xb0; C. divided by melt index Iat 190&#xb0; C.) of at least 25. A second HDPE component may be included in the composition with melt index Iof greater than 10 dg/min and melt flow ratio of 30 or less. The disclosed compositions are suitable for use in living hinge closure applications.

High density polyethylene composition and closure

A container is provided which includes a container body, a cap closure and a plastic membrane. The container body has a receiving area capable of holding a product. An open mouth surrounds the receiving area. A cap closure is arranged over the open mouth. The cap closure includes a fitment engageable around the mouth and a lid hingedly connected to the fitment. The plastic membrane is integrally molded with the cap closure and sealingly prevents leakage from the receiving area. The membrane includes a minor area non-frangibly attached to the fitment having a V-shaped outer border with sections of the border converging to a pivot point, and a major area tangibly attached along its perimeter to the fitment and to the V-shaped outer border. A pull tab is formed on a surface of the membrane at the pivot point.

A toggle-action dispensing closure is provided for manipulation between a closed, non-dispensing orientation and an open, dispensing orientation that is easily assembled, resists inadvertent opening and has an improved aesthetic appearance for variously shaped closures. The closure includes an actuator rotationally mounted on a housing whereby the housing may be secured to a container. The axis of rotation of the actuator is asymmetrically disposed in the housing. The actuator has a rear flange with an articulatable hinge that is longer than its front flange. When the closure is securely mounted to a container, the portion of the rear flange below the hinge resiliently contacts the container assisting in preventing inadvertently opening the closure.

A bottle is provided with a visual camouflage appearance. Walls of the bottle include an outer first layer, a middle second layer and an optionally inner third layer. The first layer is transparent. The third layer can include a contrast coloring agent. The second layer includes foamed unevenly distributed regions arranged to create a camouflage appearance.
