A rate of change of current sensor includes two measurement coils, arranged such that the turns of the first and second measurement coils are interleaved. The rate of change of current sensor further comprises two return coils, arranged to progress in an opposite direction to the measurement coils. The coils form loops and progress substantially around a target measurement conductor. This ensures that the two measurement coils both receive the same electrostatic coupling from external conductors which are not the target of the measurement operation. Further, the two measurement coils are arranged such that the first coil and the second coil are, on average, the same distance to the current-carrying conductor of interest.

Current sensor

A rate of change of current sensor includes two measurement coils, arranged on a substrate or printed circuit board. The coils form loops and progress substantially around a target measurement conductor. This ensures that the two measurement coils both receive the same electrostatic coupling from external conductors which are not the target of the measurement operation. Further, the two measurement coils are arranged such that the first coil and the second coil are, on average, the same distance to the current-carrying conductor of interest.

A leakage detection instrument may receive an electromagnetic signal radiated from a leakage location within a cable network system. The instrument may determine the leak based on spectral analysis and without the use of tagged or test signals.

The disclosed embodiments relate to a method and apparatus to align bit weights in a display device. There is provided a method for calibrating light output in a display device, the method comprising: displaying a first video pattern, the first video pattern comprising a first set of pixels divided into a first subset of pixels and a second subset of pixels, the first subset of pixels having a first intensity level, the second subset of pixels having an intensity level corresponding to a fully off state; measuring a first light output value associated with the first video pattern; displaying a second video pattern, the second video pattern comprising a second set of pixels, each of the second set of pixels having a second intensity level corresponding to a fraction of the first intensity level, the fractional value of second intensity level being determined so that a second light output value associated with the second video pattern is intended to equal the first light output; measuring the second light output value; and adjusting the fractional value of the LSB to converge the second light output value with the first light output value.

Bit weighting alignment in a display device

The disclosed embodiments relate to a system and method for compensating for spoke light in a video unit. More specifically, there is provided a method comprising measuring a first light level during a non-spoke time of a color wheel to generate a non-spoke light level; and setting a spoke light compensation value based on the measured non-spoke light level. There is also provided a video unit comprising a light source configured to generate a first light level during a non-spoke time of a color wheel, a photodiode assembly configured to measure the first light level to generate a non-spoke light level, and a processor configured to set a spoke light compensation value based on the non-spoke light level.

A liquid crystal display projection system for pictures that can be viewed stereoscopically, comprising: a source of a repetitive three color sequence of light; first and second imagers responsive to respective drive signals representative of the same picture from different angles of view; at least a first polarizing beam splitter for separating said repetitive three-color sequence of light into a P polarized three color sequence of light and an S polarized three color sequence of light, said S polarized three color sequence of light illuminating said first imager and said P polarized three color sequence of light illuminating said second imager; a first filter for removing P polarized light directed to said first imager; and, a second filter for removing P polarized light reflected from said second imager, wherein said light reflected from said first imager and said light filtered by said second filter form a stereoscopic image when viewed through respective P and S polarizing lenses.

Stereoscopic image projection system

A device for controlling common mode electrode voltage in a liquid crystal display includes at least a first sensor for measuring flicker resulting from applying a video signal with a predetermined color and drive level to an imager. A detector for determining a difference between a positive field detector voltage and a negative field detector voltage is used to provide a feed-back loop for feeding back the difference to a controller to adjust the common mode electrode voltage.
