A rotary tool assembly includes a rotary tool having a body with a working end and a rear end, a motor disposed within the body, and a drive shaft rotatably driven by the motor. A base of the rotary tool assembly includes a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery pack and a stand for supporting the rotary tool when the rotary tool is not in use. The stand includes two arms defining a tool receptacle therebetween in which the rotary tool is supported. A power cord extends between the base and the rotary tool to transfer electric power from the base to the rotary tool to selectively power the motor. The battery pack is received in the battery receptacle for form a foot of the base.

A pressing tool includes a motor, a sensor, and a microcontroller coupled to the motor and the sensor. The microcontroller is configured to cause the motor to operate in a first direction, and obtain a motor parameter from the sensor. The microcontroller is further configured to determine an occurrence of a fault condition of the motor when the motor parameter satisfies a threshold. In response to determining the fault condition, the microcontroller is further configured to cause the motor to change from operation in the first direction to operate in a second direction, pause operation of the motor in the second direction, and resume operation of the motor in the first direction.

A power tool includes a housing and an electric motor assembly supported in the housing. The electric motor assembly includes a stator core and a circuit board proximate an end of the stator core. The circuit board includes a heat-generating component facing away from the stator core. The electric motor assembly also includes an end cap coupled to the stator core and in thermal contact with the heat-generating component as a heat sink to remove thermal energy from the heat-generating component.

A vacuum cleaner including a debris collection container having an outer perimeter and a lid removably coupled to the debris collection container. The lid has a periphery that extends along the outer perimeter of the debris collection container. The vacuum further includes a suction source coupled to the lid and removable from the debris collection container with the lid. The suction source includes a motor and an impeller driven by the motor. The vacuum cleaner further includes an exhaust passageway downstream from the suction source for discharging an airflow from the debris collection container. The exhaust passageway extends radially outward from the impeller and toward the periphery of the lid. The vacuum cleaner further includes an exhaust outlet port in communication with the exhaust passageway. The exhaust outlet port extends along a majority of the periphery of the lid.

A power tool assembly includes a power tool having a battery support portion that defines a battery insertion axis and a battery operatively engageable with the power tool support portion along the battery insertion axis to provide power to the power tool. The power tool assembly also includes a battery latching mechanism having a latch pivotable about a pivot axis transverse to the battery insertion axis and engageable with one of the battery pack or the battery support portion for securing the battery pack to the battery support portion. The battery latching mechanism further includes a handle coupled for pivoting movement with the latch about the pivot axis.

An articulating head of a power tool is disclosed in the present invention, which includes a base member adapted to couple to a main body of the power tool, an articulating member pivotably connected to the base member, and a locking device coupled to the articulating member for locking an orientation of the articulating member with respect to the base member. The base member contains a first power transmission part which is capable of receiving mechanical driving power from the main body of the power tool. The articulating member contains a second power transmission part mechanically coupled to the first power transmission part. The locking device has an actuation lever rotatable about a pivot axis between a free position and a lock position.

A power tool includes a tool operable to work on a workpiece, a drive mechanism coupled to the tool and operable to move the tool, and a housing defining an interior. The drive mechanism is disposed within the interior. A handle has a first end and a second end. The first end is fixed to the housing and the second end is spaced apart from the housing to define a gap therebetween. An insert is fixedly attached to the housing and the second end to fill the gap. The insert is more flexible then the handle and the housing.

In one aspect, the present invention provides an imager, preferably portable, that includes a source of electromagnetic radiation capable of generating radiation with one or more frequencies in a range of about 1 GHz to about 2000 GHz. An optical system that is optically coupled to the source focuses radiation received therefrom onto an object plane, and directs at least a portion of the focused radiation propagating back from the object plane onto an image plane. The imager further includes a scan mechanism coupled to the optical system for controlling thereof so as to move the focused radiation over the object plane. A detector optically coupled to the lens at the image plane detects at least a portion of the radiation propagating back from a plurality of scanned locations in the object plane, thereby generating a detection signal. A processor that is in communication with the detector generates an image of at least a portion of the object plane based on the detection signal.
