A method, digital telephone and computer-readable medium for providing a user identity-based secure channel between the digital telephone and a service provider. At the service provider, an encrypted voice transmission from a digital telephone is decrypted. The voice transmission was encrypted at the digital telephone by using a user voice encryption key that was created in the digital telephone. The user voice encryption key was created at the digital telephone by inputting a telephone identifier and a called telephone number into a public encryption key algorithm that is supplied by the service provider. By decrypting the encrypted voice transmission, the service provider is able to extract the voice transmission, the telephone identifier, and the called telephone number, thus allowing the service provider to route the voice transmission to an appropriate answering party at the service provider.

Caller-identity based security

A method, system and computer-readable medium for providing a user identity-based secure channel between a digital telephone and a service provider is presented. Data concerning the user interactions can be stored. A request to initiate an interactive voice response session can be received. The interactive voice response system can determine an identity for a user making the request. The interactive voice response system can generate a customized menu for the user. At least a portion of the customized menu can be based upon the usage data. The customized menu can be presented to the user.

A method, a system, and an apparatus for efficiently presenting correction options. The present invention is capable of analyzing user voice commands and sorting multiple input requests based on user selection probability to determine whether a confirmation step should be presented and, if so, the manner in which the confirmation step should be presented. In particular, the method requests an information input from the user and then assigns a confidence level to the information input. If the confidence level is LOW, then the system performs an immediate confirmation step. If the confidence level assigned is MEDIUM or HIGH, then the information is placed into a data set that is confirmed in a batch confirmation step. The batch confirmation step presents the captured information to the user for confirmation. If any of the information is incorrect, then the method sorts the information in ascending order by confidence level and creates a menu of items that may be changed. The user then makes the change. Once all changes have been made, the batch confirmation is complete as well as the information collection process.

Efficient presentation of correction options in a speech interface based upon user selection probability

The present invention can include a method for tuning grammar option weights of a phrase-based, automatic speech recognition (ASR) grammar, where the grammar option weights affect which entries within the grammar are matched to spoken utterances. The tuning can occur in an unsupervised fashion, meaning no special training session or manual transcription of data from an ASR session is needed. The method can include the step of selecting a phrase-based grammar to use in a communication session with a user wherein different phrase-based grammars can be selected for different users. Feedback of ASR phrase processing operations can be recorded during the communication session. Each ASR phrase processing operation can match a spoken utterance against at least one entry within the selected phrase-based grammar. At least one of the grammar option weights can be automatically adjusted based upon the feedback to improve accuracy of the phrase-based grammar.

Training speaker-dependent, phrase-based speech grammars using an unsupervised automated technique

A method of generating a speech recognition grammar for use with a speech recognition system can include parsing the corpus of data to identify grammatical structures within the corpus of data. The identified grammatical structures can be compared with grammar generation rules to determine particular ones of the identified grammatical structures to include within the speech recognition grammar. The grammar generation rules can designate which grammatical structures are to be included within the speech recognition grammar. The grammatical structures which have been identified in the parsing step and which also have been designated by the grammar generation rules can be included in the speech recognition grammar.

The processor can monitor (or) a cadence such as monitoring a keystroke signature, store the cadence of the password entry, compare () the cadence of a subsequent password entry with the cadence of at least one previous password entry, establish () a stability metric with respect to the cadences compared, and require () both the password entry and the cadence once the cadence meets the stability metric. The processor can require only the password entry until the stability metric for the cadence is achieved. The processor can also determine () if the password entry is new and optionally require () only the password entry to enter the system if determined as new.

A system and method to enable instant collaboration between a user of an instant messaging network and a user of a communications network can include the steps of connecting the instant messaging network and the communications network via a data network; providing a processor in the data network for: receiving a text message having a designation for text-to-speech conversion via an instant messaging server of the instant messaging network, wherein the text message is intended for a phone coupled to a voicemail system of the communications network; recognizing the designation; converting the text message to a voice message; calling the phone; delivering the voice message to the voicemail system; enabling a scheduled delivery of the voice message to a user of the phone; and delivering the voice message to the user.
