A knotless suture fastener installation system for securing medical devices such as cardiac implants. The knotless suture fasteners may be spring-biased so as to grip onto sutures passed therethrough. The system includes a fastener deployment tool with a proximal handle and a distal shaft to which a fastener cartridge attaches. A plurality of disposable cartridges are sequentially attached to the end of the deployment tool and used to secure the medical implant one fastener at a time. The deployment tool may also cut the sutures being fastened.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of spring cannulae, including one or more holes in the sidewall of the cannula. Some disclosed cannulae include a wire, helically wound to form coils, and at least one hole in the cannula that interrupts one or more of the coils. Some embodiments further include a fused region of the coils through which the hole passes. Some embodiments include a ring attached to ends of the interrupted coils, where the hole is surrounded by the ring. Some embodiments include a sheath that is attached to a radial surface of the interrupted coils, where the hole passes radially though the sheath.

A desk for use with a chair, such as a recliner or arm chair, has desk surfaces supported on opposite sides of a front portion of the chair, with at least one of the desk surfaces movably mounted to move between a desk surface access position away from the front portion of the chair to allow access for a user to the chair and a desk surface use position with respect to the chair and a user in the chair to allow use of the desk surface for intended uses of the desk.

A tappet adjusting tool for use in replacing the adjusting pads in the valve lifters of overhead cam, internal combustion engines, such as those commonly used in motorcycles and some automobiles, includes a main tool body having a generally curved lower extension adapted to fit loosely between the cylinder head and the cam of the engine. When in proper position between the cam and cylinder head, the tool is locked into that position such as by a wedge member which is normally swung in toward the tool body but which can be biased into locking position against the cylinder head. A plunger extends from the tool extension and makes contact with the edge of the valve lifter. The plunger is extended to move the lifter and adjusting pad of the engine being worked on away from the cam so that the adjusting pad can be removed and replaced.
