In an embodiment, a method includes receiving a first status message from a first recording device. The first status message includes a first recording identifier. The method further includes determining to initiate a second recording on a particular recording device based, at least in part, on the first status message and configuration settings. In addition, the method includes initiating a second recording on the particular recording device. Furthermore, the method includes creating a second recording identifier. The method also includes storing information related to the first recording identifier and the second recording identifier in a metadata file. Additionally, the method includes transmitting a second status message for receipt by other recording devices. The second status message includes the second recording identifier.

Method and system for peer-to-peer operation of multiple recording devices

In an embodiment, a method includes initiating a mobile device operable to continuously capture a live media stream such that recording of the live media stream is deactivated. The method further includes refraining from recording the live media stream while recording of the live media stream is deactivated. In addition, the method includes monitoring environmental conditions for one or more preconfigured indicators that the mobile device has exited the defined physical area. Also, the method includes, responsive to detection of at least one of the one or more preconfigured indicators, determining to activate recording of the live media stream.

Systems and methods for intelligently recording a live media stream

A system for remote database access is provided. The system includes an enterprise database that stores two or more sets of data. A data synchronizer receives one or more user-defined sets of data and generates one or more templates that define the relationship between the two or more sets of data in the enterprise database and the user-defined set of data. A remote data system receives the user-defined sets of data and receives user-entered data update. The data synchronizer receives the user-entered data update and maps the user-entered data update to the enterprise database using the templates.

System and method for remote data access

A method and apparatus for decoding two-dimensional barcode symbols from a data stream generated by scanning a two-dimensional barcode with a one-dimensional scanner. A decoding process according to one embodiment of the invention involves coupling the one-dimensional scanner to a serial or other port of a host computer in order to provide a data stream to a software decoder resident in the host computer. The software decoder performs a series of iterative steps in which the data stream is sampled at regular intervals to convert the data stream to a series of elements (e.g., bars and spaces). Barcode symbol data characters are then derived from the elements. A symbol matrix is next constructed, the matrix being representative of the two-dimensional barcode symbol.

A method and apparatus for processing data in a computer system from a keyboard wedged device and a keyboard hook device. The keyboard wedge converts the data into standard keyboard keystrokes for transmission over a keyboard line. The keyboard hook provides a window through which scanned data is detected. Scanned data is distinguished from typed data using a software data processing application. The software is configured to identify scanned data based on characteristics of the scanned data. Processing functions are next performed on the detected data according to the particular application being used.
