A slew drive includes a housing, a worm shaft having a worm thread carried within the housing for rotational movement, and a torque tube having an outer diameter and a central socket. The torque tube is carried by the housing for rotational movement perpendicularly to the worm shaft and worm thread. A ring gear section having teeth, is carried by the torque tube so that the teeth extend beyond the outer diameter of the torque tube and engage the worm threads. Rotation of the worm shaft rotates the worm threads engaging the teeth of the ring gear section, thereby rotating the ring gear section which rotates the torque tube relative the housing.

Techniques are disclosed for using a supplemental display device in conjunction with a first device. The first device, hosting a communication and synchronization application, determines an indication as to a protocol used to perform mirroring. A packet is generated and transmitted from the first device to the supplemental device. A user selection of a second application hosted by the first device is detected. A determination is made as to whether the second application is to be executed by the supplemental device or by the first device. If the second application is to be executed by the first device, the second application is executed using the first device and the user interface of the second application is mirrored to the supplemental device using the protocol. If the second application is to be executed by the supplemental device, a command is transmitted from the first device to the supplemental device to execute the second application.

Systems and methods for a supplemental display screen

A supplemental display device is configured to be used with a first computing device having a first display. The supplemental display device has a touchscreen display and a control system. The control system is configured to wirelessly connect with the first computing device, access application icons from the first computing device, the icons corresponding to applications installed on the first computing device, display the application icons on the touchscreen display, detect an orientation of the supplemental display device, orient the application icons on the touchscreen display in accordance with the detected orientation of the supplemental display device and independent of an orientation of the first computing device, capture a user input on the touchscreen display, transmit the user input to the first computing device, and wirelessly receive content transmitted from the first computing device, wherein the content is transmitted from the first computing device at least partly in response to the captured user input.

A slew drive includes a housing, a worm shaft having a worm thread carried within the housing for rotational movement and a torque tube having an outer surface. The torque tube is carried by the housing for rotational movement perpendicularly to the worm shaft and worm thread. A ring gear section having teeth is carried by the torque tube with the teeth engaging the worm threads. An inner raceway is fabricated as an integral part of the torque tube. An outer raceway is fabricated as an integral part of the housing, the outer raceway radially overlying the inner raceway, and bearing elements captured between the inner raceway and the outer raceway.

Systems and methods are disclosed for using a supplementary display device in conjunction with a first device, where the first device may have a smaller display than the supplementary display device. Icon images corresponding to applications installed on the first device are accessed and wirelessly transmitted to the supplementary display device. Touch data, corresponding to a user touch input on a touchscreen of the supplementary display device, is received at the first device. The touch data includes coordinate data corresponding to the user touch input on a touchscreen of the supplementary display device. Based at least in part on the touch data, a determination is to be made as whether an application on the first device is to be launched. The application is launched on the first device and a user interface corresponding to the launched application is transmitted to the supplementary display device.

An electronic display replicator for a primary portable computing device may comprise a case, an electronic display screen coupled to the case, and a control system disposed within the case. The control system is configured to establish a wireless communication channel between the electronic display replicator and the primary portable computing device to allow the transposition of data from a display screen of the primary portable computing device onto the electronic display screen. The control system allows the electronic display screen of the electronic display replicator to act in place of the first display to operate and control the primary portable computing device.

A cardiopulmonary resuscitation device includes a case having an extension portion extending therefrom. In operation, the user places the case across the chest of a person being given CPR, and presses the case into the person's chest, applying uniform force in according to a rhythm guided by audible and/or visual feedback. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation device includes a control circuit having a display screen, and a distance sensor apparatus operatively coupled to the control circuit. In another embodiment, the cardiopulmonary resuscitation device is structured for use on an infant-sized human. In this embodiment, the device includes a pair of legs extending through the case, the support structure permitting the case to be positioned on the chest of an infant-sized human; wherein the case is useable to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the infant-sized human by repeated press-release movements using a finger pad disposed on the case.

A seismic mount according to various aspects of the present technology may comprise a housing having at least two independent isolation sections. The first isolation section may comprise a sliding plate system fixedly attached to a structure on a first end and disposed within the housing on a second end. The first sliding plate may be configured to allow the housing to move about the fixed position of the first sliding plate during a transient period such as seismic event. A second sliding plate system may be coupled to the housing and extend downwardly therefrom. The second sliding plate system may be configured to allow for independent movement of both the housing and the second sliding plate system with respect to each other during the seismic event.

A training system according to various aspects of the present technology may comprise a ball retention device coupled to a base and a dampening system coupled to the ball retention device and configured to return a kicked ball to its original resting location with minimal oscillation. The base may be configured to comprise a portable unit that may be selectively weighted to increase stability during use. A force measurement system may be coupled to the dampening system and be configured to measure the kicking force applied to the ball to calculate a speed value for the kicked ball and display the speed value to the user.

A cardiopulmonary resuscitation device includes a case having an extension portion extending therefrom. In operation, the user places the case across the chest of a person being given CPR, and presses the case into the person's chest, applying uniform force in according to a rhythm guided by audible and/or visual feedback. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation device includes a control circuit having a display screen, and a distance sensor apparatus operatively coupled to the control circuit. The distance sensor apparatus is carried by the extension portion which can be situated over the edge of the person, and provides a sensor signal to the control circuit in response to movement of the case. The display screen displays a distance and rate that the case has been moved during CPR, and both an audible sound and visual light are emitted each time the device is applied properly to the person receiving CPR. The device is automatically activated once a certain amount force is applied to the case.
