A wireless device includes one or more antennas coupled to a transmit (TX) chain. The TX chain is configured to generate output RF signals using baseband signals. The TX chain includes a TX power controller configured to classify a packet of the output RF signals into a priority category of a plurality of priority categories based on priority information within the packet. The TX power controller is further to determine a time average specific absorption rate (TAS) energy budget of the wireless device. The TAS energy budget is based on a pre-configured regulatory power limit (e.g., SAR transmit power limit) of the wireless device over a time interval. Transmission power for transmitting the packet is determined based on the priority category and the TAS energy budget. The packet is encoded for transmission via the one or more antennas using the determined transmission power.

A system comprises N transmit/receive (TX/RX) chains, where each TX/RX chain comprises an RFFE and each RFFE comprises one or more thermal sensors configured to measure heat in the RFFE. In some embodiments a communication module in a device may automatically establish a connection with an access point utilizing a public use credential in response to a previously established relationship with the access point. This disclosure describes systems, methods, and computer-readable media related to WiFi opportunistic key caching over non-WiFi access. In some embodiments, data may be received from a user device over a non-WiFi network connection. The data may include authentication credentials for a WiFi network connection and a location associated with the user device. One or more access points may be identified based at least in part on the location associated with the user device. Information associated with the user device and the authentication credentials may be transmitted to the identified one or more access points. Authentication of the user device with at least one of the identified one or more access points may be facilitated.

Embodiments of a WiFi system and method for time-sliced associations for make-before-break handover in the WiFi system are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the method monitors metrics of a serving channel of the WiFi system to determine whether to increase a channel scanning rate of target channels of the WiFi system. The channel scanning rate of the target channel may be increased in response to the metrics. A time-sliced association with one or more target cells on the target channel may be performed while an association with a serving cell on the serving channel may be maintained. The wireless client may be transitioned from the serving cell to the target cell in response to the metrics while obscuring the complexity from the device operating system and active applications.

In embodiments, a user equipment (UE) may include an applications module and a communications module. The applications module may run an application and facilitate communications between the application and a remote server over a wireless communication network. The communications between the application and the remote server may initially be over a first interface selected based on a route table. The communications module may identify a second interface that is preferred to the first interface. The communications module may modify the route table to prioritize the second interface over the first interface. Additionally, the communications module may instruct the applications module to execute a reset operation to re-establish communications between the application and the remote server using the second interface.

Application continuity with reroute and reset in a wireless communication network

Packets are duplicated, delayed, and spread in time as a form of forward error correction. If a client device receives duplicate packets, they can be discarded. If one of the duplicate packets is lost, then the duplication provides forward error correction with no change to the device that receives the packet.
