A method of automatically controlling chloramine concentration in a body of water contained in a reservoir includes: (a) determining residual chloramine concentration in a first water sample obtained from the body of water; (b) automatically engaging a supply of chlorine to add chlorine to the body of water when the residual chloramine concentration in the first water sample is determined to be below a residual chloramine concentration set-point or a first chloramine concentration percentage; (c) determining residual chloramine concentration in a second water sample obtained from the body of water after step (b); and (d) automatically engaging a supply of ammonia and the supply of chlorine to add both ammonia and chlorine to the body of water if the residual chloramine concentration in the second water sample is determined to be below the residual chloramine concentration in the first water sample or a second chloramine concentration percentage.

Chemical injection and control system and method for controlling chloramines

A water treatment system is disclosed having an electrolytic cell for liberating hydrogen from a base solution. The base solution may be a solution of brine for generating sodium hypochlorite or potable water to be oxidized. The cell has first and second opposing electrode end plates held apart from each other by a pair of supports such that the supports enclose opposing sides of the end plates to form a cell chamber. One or more inner electrode plates are spaced apart from each other in the cell chamber in between the first and second electrode plates. The supports are configured to electrically isolate the first and second electrode plates and the inner electrode plates from each other. The first and second electrode plates are configured to receive opposite polarity charges that passively charge the inner electrode plates via conduction from the base solution to form a chemical reaction in the base solution as the base solution passes through the cell chamber.

Electrolytic cell and system for treating water

A water treatment system is disclosed having electrolytic cell for liberating hydrogen from a base solution. The present invention relates to a method of cleaning electrolytic cells that includes: (a) directing a base solution comprising water into an array of electrolytic cells; and (b) removing contaminants from at least one of the electrolytic cells with air turbulence provided by an injection of compressed air into the electrolytic cell. The injection of compressed air is provided by an air sparging system in fluid communication with an inlet portion of the at least one electrolytic cell. A self-cleaning electrolytic cell system is further included.

A system, method, and apparatus for managing a water supply in a water tank are presented herein. A submersible pump is placed inside the water tank. The thrust of the pump causes a considerable increase in water circulation about the water tank, thereby resulting in a more consistent water supply. Chemical disinfectants are added directly in front of the pump, thereby resulting in better mixing. Additionally an outlet from the pump provides a testable sample for measurement of the concentration of the chemical disinfectant. The measurements of the concentration of the chemical disinfectant are provided to a programmable logic controller which makes real time adjustments to the chemical disinfectants that are added.

Reservoir management system

A method and apparatus for controlling water impurity level and temperature uniformity within large water-containing reservoirs including a pump located in the body of water, the pump ejecting a jet of water therefrom and ingesting water at a point remote from said ejecting and an eductor positioned in the jet of water for pulling in low pressure water and flowing a stream of water therefrom providing mixing and circulation of water within the reservoir to remove temperature gradients. Water purity is controlled by a controller.

Large water reservoir management system

In a method for producing sodium hypochlorite, brine solution is piped from the brine tank to a first inlet in a first electrolyzer cell of an electrolyzer assembly while simultaneously piping chilled water from a chiller having a temperature range from about 10&deg; C. to about 25&deg; C. to the first inlet so that the brine solution combines with the chilled water. The chilled brine solution is electrolyzed in the first electrolyzer cell. The hypochlorite and brine solution resulting from electrolysis occurring in the first cell is piped to a second inlet in a second electrolyzer cell in the electrolyzer assembly while simultaneously piping chilled water from the chiller having a temperature range from about 10&deg; C. to about 25&deg; C. to the second inlet so that the chilled water combines with the hypochlorite and brine solution. Each cell can have more than one inlet, preferably up to 6 inlets. The chilled hypochlorite and brine solution are electrolyzed in the second cell. The process is repeated until the hypochlorite and brine solution passes through all cells of the electrolyzer assembly.

Method and system for generating hypochlorite

A chiller tank system for containment of chilled liquids comprises a first tank and a second tank position within the first tank. The first tank is spaced apart from the second tank so that insulation material can be positioned between them The second tank defines a chamber for receiving the liquid to be chilled. A straight-lined, chiller barrel is positioned vertically within the chamber, the chiller barrel defining a bore connected to a flexible, dual hose. The straight-lined chiller barrel extends downward into the tank thereby evenly chilling the liquid to avoid thermal stratification that causes vaporization by creating warm spots within the liquid. A refrigeration unit supplies inert refrigerant to the tank. The dual hose circulates refrigerant between the refrigeration unit and the chiller barrel, the dual hose comprising an inner hose within an outer hose, the outer hose concentric to and spaced apart from the inner hose thereby creating two channels, one for transporting the refrigerant to the chiller barrel and the other for transporting the refrigerant away from the chiller barrel.
