A sample processing assembly for treatment of a sample on a substrate includes a mounting surface for the substrate and a closure body configured to releasably retain a cover member. The closure body is movable between an open position and a substantially closed position. When a substrate is placed in the assembly and the closure body is in the substantially closed position while retaining a cover member, a reaction chamber is formed for processing a sample. A cover member for use with the sample processing assembly is also provided.

A fluid transport system for an automated slide treatment apparatus having slide treatment modules is disclosed. The fluid transport system including a fluid dispensing robot configured by a controller to dispense a plurality of reagents to slides received in the slide treatment modules. The fluid dispensing robot includes pumping means configured by the controller to pump the reagents to be dispensed from a plurality of corresponding reagent containers; a probe having a body arranged to store one or more of the reagents pumped via the pumping means so as to prime the probe with said one or more of the reagents to be dispensed; and a well disposed on the body of the probe to store further of the reagents primed to be dispensed.

Fluid transport system and method for treating one or more tissue samples on a slide

A slide transport system for an automated slide treatment apparatus having slide treatment modules for receiving slides and a fluid dispensing robot configured by a controller to dispense reagents to the slides is disclosed. The slide transport system includes a slide transport robot configured by the controller to move the slides to and from the slide treatment modules and a slide transport device disposed on the slide transport robot and configured by the controller to releasably hold the slides. A slide handling head on the slide transport robot moves a closure body of a slide treatment module from a normally closed to an open position to move slides in the slide treatment module. The slide transport device is configured by the controller to release a slide when located in the slide treatment module, when the closure body is in the open position.

The present application provides an automated beverage dispenser for use with a number of cups. The automated beverage dispenser may include a carousel with a number of shelves, a first actuator such that first actuator may maneuver the shelves in a first direction, a second actuator positioned adjacent to the carousel, and a gripper positioned on the second actuator such that the second actuator may maneuver one of the cups by the gripper in a second direction to one of the shelves of the carousel.

Disclosed is a mousetrap having an enclosure with a rotatable top part having a downwardly extending strike plate within the enclosure, and a bottom part having an upwardly extending catch plate within the enclosure, an aperture in each of the top part and the bottom part which are in substantial alignment when the mousetrap is set, and a trigger mechanism, wherein the mousetrap is set to incapacitate or kill the mouse by the manual rotation of the top part relative to the bottom part when a mouse activates the trigger mechanism causing the top part to rotate relative to the bottom part and thereby incapacitating or killing the mouse between the strike plate and the catch plate.

A detergent dispensing device for an automatic washing machine has a cartridge, a selecting mechanism, an operating mechanism, and a thermal element. The cartridge includes a plurality of chambers to accommodate a detergent composition. The selecting mechanism selectively exposes each chamber to wash liquor allowing the detergent, in use, to be washed out of the chamber. The operating mechanism is movable from a first position to a second position for loading mechanical energy into the device which provides a restoring force for the operating mechanism. The thermal element retains the operating means in the second position and is arranged to move when subjected to an elevated temperature prevailing in an interior of the washing machine during a wash cycle, thereby the thermal element moves or releases the operating mechanism. The operating mechanism is arranged to advance the selecting mechanism to an adjacent chamber as the cartridge remains stationary.

With reference to a preferred embodiment as depicted in, the present invention provides a mousetrap comprising a first part () and a second part () that together define an enclosure wherein the first part () and the second part () are operably connected to a first biasing means (). Within the enclosure is retained a lever () having a first end (), a bridge (), a pivot means (), a releasable catch means () and a second biasing means (). The second biasing means () biases the lever () into a resting position. By virtue of the second biasing means (), the mousetrap is able to be set when held in any orientation, and is also stabilised (i.e, accidental activation of the mousetrap is avoided, or at least minimised, when the mousetrap is turned in any orientation, for example, on its side or upside down).
