Systems and methods of the present invention allow for the discovery of physical location information about network assets and the delivery of that information to network administrators. In addition, environmental and other information about network asset locations can be provided to an administrator. Intelligent patch panels and power outlet units are installed in network cabinets to facilitate the acquisition and reporting of physical infrastructure information, including information about network resource availability.

Physical infrastructure management system

A data center physical infrastructure management system has a cabinet having rack spaces and a sensor. A data communication system transmits signals to a management database. Personal or automated intervention is determined algorithmically by a data processor. A human interface for the data center management system is provided. Removable electronic assets contained in the rack spaces each have an identifier tag. An identifier tag reader is installed on the cabinet body. A door sensor provides a signal responsive to whether a cabinet door is closed, open, locked, or unlocked. Also, a secure contact arrangement has a base terminal formed of electrically conductive material, and first and second electrically conductive elements. A resilient non-conductive element is interposed between the first and second electrically conductive elements, and a compression element compresses the resilient non-conductive element to cause the first and second electrically conductive elements to communicate with one another.

A system balances computational loads, for example in a virtual machine environment, taking into account the physical characteristics of the physical machines that the virtual machines are running on. A framework is provided for developing and implementing policies whereby computational loads are distributed in a beneficial manner. Examples of policies include policies that improve loads based on environmental and security concerns.

A bracket assembly for electronic equipment support structures having an elongated main body, a mounting tab extending from a first edge of the main body, and first and second mounting arms extending from a second edge of the main body, opposite the first edge. The mounting tab has an aperture formed therethrough. The bracket assembly can be mounted to a vertically oriented member of an electronic equipment support structure by: mounting the bracket assembly to the vertically oriented member; positioning the rack mountable equipment adjacent and generally parallel to the vertically oriented member such that the equipment is in a generally vertical orientation; and connecting the rack mountable equipment to the bracket assembly between opposing mounting arms of the bracket assembly.

A lavatory is provided. The lavatory includes at least one wash station, at least one electrically operated fixture associated with the wash station, a control system configured to control a flow of a fluid through the at least one electrically operated fixture, a power source selectively coupled to the control system, and a power management system coupled to the power source to control the power provided to the control system. The power management system includes a detector configured to monitor the output voltage of the power source, and a switch configured to electrically disconnect the power source from the control system when the output voltage of the power source drops below a predetermined level.

The present invention provides for the integration of a an infrastructure management software (IMS) asset tracking system, an IMS task manager (ITM) and an IMS virtual container or virtual container feature to alleviate issues such as personnel scheduling issues, lost asset issues and service outages within a data center.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a power outlet unit. The power outlet unit includes an inlet, a first group of outlets spaced apart at intervals of one rack unit, a first circuit breaker electrically connected to the inlet and the first group of outlets, a second group of outlets spaced apart at intervals of one rack unit, and a second circuit breaker electrically connected to the inlet and the second group of outlets.

A lavatory system is provided that includes a first wash station having a first fluid dispensing fixture and a first drain, a second wash station having a second fluid dispensing fixture and a second drain, a support structure extending between the first wash station and the second wash station and at least one array of photovoltaic cells supported at the support structure. The at least one array of photovoltaic cells is configured to provide power for operating both the first fluid dispensing fixture and the second fluid dispensing fixture.

A lavatory system having at least one wash station and at least one electrically operated fixture is disclosed. The lavatory system includes a control system for operating the at least one electrically operated fixture. The control system comprises a power supply system, a detection system, and a fixture actuation system. According to one embodiment, the detection system comprises a processor, a sensor configured to detect a user within a sensing region, and a sampling circuit configured to store a signal from the sensor that is used by the processor to activate the fixture. According to another embodiment, the power supply system includes a power source providing an output voltage for operating components of the control system, a detector monitoring the output voltage, and a switch for electrically disconnecting the power source from the components of the control system if the output voltage drops below a predetermined level. According to one embodiment, the power source is at least one photovoltaic cell coupled to the lavatory system.

A network cabinet comprising an electronic component a duct positioned therein. The electronic component has at least one exhaust vent and the duct defines first and second openings. The first opening aligns with the exhaust vent such that the duct receives exhaust therefrom and the duct extends from the first opening toward a side of the network cabinet such that the second opening faces the side of the cabinet to direct the exhaust thereto.

An automation network includes automation network devices connected to the network and a system layer interface that interfaces with a transport layer and an application layer of the automation network. The system layer interface includes messaging command libraries configured to implement human-readable messages for the automation network devices, where the automation network devices include at least one message output device. The system layer interface may provide commands and functions to establish messaging in the network, the length of supported messages, and scrolling of messages on output display devices.
