Described herein are compositions composed of micronized placental components and pharmaceutical compositions thereof. The compositions have numerous medical applications. Methods for making and using the micronized compositions are also described herein.

Micronized placental tissue compositions and methods of making and using the same

Described herein are tissue grafts derived from the placenta with improved physical and biological properties. In one aspect, the tissue graft includes a first membrane comprising Wharton's jelly laminated with amnion, chorion, or a combination thereof. The presence of Wharton's jelly in the grafts enhances the performance of allograft amniotic-derived, caderivic allograft, xenograft, or alloplast soft tissue substitutes.

Laminated tissue grafts composed of Wharton's jelly and methods of making and using the same

Described herein are tissue grafts derived from the placenta that possess good adhesion to biological tissues and are useful in wound healing applications. In one aspect, the tissue graft includes (1) two or more layers of amnion, wherein at least one layer of amnion is cross-linked, (2) two or more layers of chorion, wherein at least one layer of chorion is cross-linked, or (3) one or more layers of amnion and chorion, wherein at least one layer of amnion and/or chorion is cross-linked. In another aspect, the grafts are composed of amnion and chorion cross-linked with one another. In a further aspect, the grafts have one or more layers sandwiched between the amnion and chorion membranes. The amnion and/or the chorion are treated with a cross-linking agent prior to the formation of the graft. The presence of the cross-linking agent present on the graft also enhances adhesion to the biological tissue of interest. Also described herein are methods for making and using the tissue grafts.

Placental tissue grafts modified with a cross-linking agent and methods of making and using the same

Described herein are tissue grafts derived from the placenta that possess good adhesion to biological tissues and are useful in would healing applications. Tissue grafts modified with a cross-linking agent and method of making and using the same

A method of preparing bone for transplantation in which the internal matrix of the bone is contacted with an atmosphere at less than ambient pressure. The method may additionally, include a further step in which the bone is maintained in contact with a decontaminating agent or a detergent during the period of contact with the atmosphere.

Preparation of bone for transplantation

The invention provides a simple, safe and effective method for treating bone and making it suitable for transplantation comprising: (a) contacting said bone with a global decontaminating agent effective to inactivate bacteria, fungi, virus and parasites; (b) cleaning said bone; and (c) terminally decontaminating said cleaned bone by contacting it with a global decontaminating agent effective to inactivate bacteria, fungi, virus and parasites. The invention also provides a method of cleaning bone which can be used in step (b) of the method described above and comprises contacting the bone with detergent under high pressure washing conditions at elevated temperatures.
