A polymeric composition includes a resin including an ethylene-based polymer and a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha olefin comonomer. The resin has a High Mw Comonomer Content of 3.2 wt % or greater based on a total weight of the resin over the weight average molecular weight range of 10g/mol to 10g/mol as measured by Ethylene GPC. The polymeric composition has a Relevant Comonomer Content of 0.6 wt % or greater. The polymeric composition also includes at least one of (i) a polydimethylsiloxane having a weight average molecular weight of 550,000 g/mol to 650,000 g/mol as measured according to Component GPC and (ii) a polymeric ultraviolet light stabilizer comprising a hindered amine moiety and having a weight average molecular weight from 5,000 g/mol to 20,000 g/mol as measured according to Component GPC.

Ziegler-Natta catalyzed polyethylene resins and films incorporating same

A polymeric composition includes (i) a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha olefin comonomer, the copolymer having a density of 0.945 g/cc to 0.960 g/cc, (ii) an ethylene-based polymer, and (iii) polyethylene glycol. The combination of (i) and (ii) has a High Mw Comonomer Content of 3.2 wt % or greater based on a total weight of the combined (i) and (ii) over the weight average molecular weight range of 10g/mol to 10g/mol as measured by GPC, wherein 15 wt % or greater of the total weight of the polymeric composition is the combined (i) and (ii) having a molecular weight in the range of 10g/mol to 10g/mol as measured by GPC, wherein the polymeric composition has a Relevant Comonomer Content of 0.6 wt % or greater and wherein the polymeric composition has a density of 0.945 g/cc or greater as measured according to ASTM D792.

Enhanced aging and reduced shrinkback polymeric composition

The present invention relates to oriented, multilayer polyethylene films. In one aspect, a biaxially oriented, multilayer polyethylene film comprises at least one layer comprising: (1) a polyethylene-based composition that comprises: (a) at least 97% by weight, based on the total weight of the polyethylene-based composition, of a polyethylene composition comprising: (i) from 25 to 37 percent by weight of a first polyethylene fraction having a density in the range of 0.935 to 0.947 g/cmand a melt index (I) of less than 0.1 g/10 minutes; and (ii) from 63 to 75 percent by weight of a second polyethylene fraction; and (b) 20 to 5000 ppm, based on the total weight of the polyethylene-based composition of a nucleating agent, wherein the nucleating agent comprises a calcium salt of 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid or sodium 4-[(4-chlorobenzoyl) amino] benzoate; wherein the polyethylene composition has less than 0.10 branches per 1,000 carbon atoms when measured usingC NMR, wherein the density of the polyethylene-based composition is at least 0.965 g/cm, and wherein the melt index (I) of the polyethylene-based composition is 0.5 to 10 g/10 minutes.

Oriented polyethylene films and articles comprising the same

A method and a system for analyzing a physical characteristic of a film sample are described herein. The system includes a material holder system configured to hold the film sample; a dart testing system configured to test a physical characteristic of the film sample; and a moving system configured to move the held film sample to be analyzed or tested between stations. The moving system is configured to move the held film sample in the material holder system to the dart testing system.

System for analyzing impact and puncture resistance

A device for analyzing a physical characteristic of a film sample is described herein. The device includes a clamping system configured to hold the film sample. The device further includes a dart probe system configured to test a physical characteristic of the film sample. The dart probe system has a dart probe, a propulsion system configured to move the dart probe relative to the clamping system, and a force sensor configured to measure a force that the dart probe is subjected to during a movement of the dart probe. The force sensor is configured to measure a force imparted to the film sample when the dart probe comes in contact with the film sample.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer compositions including a polyethylene and an alpha-olefin comonomer, where the polyethylene is from 70 wt % to 100 wt % of the interpolymer composition based on a total weight of the interpolymer composition and the interpolymer composition is characterized by a Comonomer Distribution Constant (CDC) in a range of from 100 to 500, a vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.15 vinyls per one thousand total carbon atoms present in the interpolymer composition, a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in a range from 1.5 to 5, a density in a range of from 0.903 to 0.950 g/cm, a melt index (I) in a range of from 0.1 to 15 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (M/M) in a range of from 1.8 to 4.5, and a separation index of from 0.50 to 1.10.
