Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. A receiver, to automatically switch from presenting a service on a first frequency to a second frequency such as when a mobile receiver is moving through a boundary region between two broadcasters, can temporarily use a satellite link or 5G wireless telephony or other over the top (OTT) source to acquire a service until an OTA link satisfies quality requirements.

ATSC boundary condition fall over to internet

A user starts playback of an audio or AV program, which starts up a large language model (LLM) such as a generative pre-trained transformer. The LLM follows the program with the user as the program is being watched. Audio is converted to text and video is converted to text-based description. The LLM essentially trains on the resulting 'corpus' so that should the user subsequently want to access part of the program using a simple conversational query about the program, the LLM can provide the answer.

Tracking content with artifical intelligence as it is consumed

A noise cancelation override system is provided to enables a listener to consume audio content using noise cancelation technology without concern that the listener will miss external noises that require attention. The override system identifies external noise in the environment of the listener that is in need of the attention of the listener and overrides an activated noise canceling mode of a personal listening device. Signals and data from the environment of the listener are collected by microphone(s) and/or sensor(s) of the override system to assess various external noises for attention features. In some instances, an attention feature may be associated with characteristic(s) of the listener and/or environmental characteristics of the location of the listener.

Responsive noise cancelation override

An audio playback system is provided to facilitate adaptive output of audio content, such as spoken word content, by an audio player in response to detecting noise interferences such as external noise outside of the playback system and/or a noise indicator that external noise is about to occur. The playback system utilizes a natural skip back point found in the audio content for playback when audio content is disrupted by external noise. Content features are used to determine the skip back point in the audio content. The audio content is replayed from such a skip back point in a manner that provides a smooth transition to pre-played content and enables a listener to follow the content. Detection of multiple interfering noises within a condensed period of time are addressed to limit redundant and time consuming playbacks.

Audio skip back response to noise interference

A noise detecting playback system is provided to facilitate adaptive output of audio content by an audio player in response to detecting noise interferences such as external noise outside of the playback. The detection playback system assesses microphone signals and sensor data of the playback system for signs of attention requiring features to trigger playback of the audio content. Microphone signals may provide volume level of a particular external noise, which is contrasted with output volume of the audio content, other noises in the environment, and/or a lack of detected noise in the environment to determine that the particular external noise is interfering or potentially interfering with the audio content. Image sensor data of the surroundings of the listener acquired by a camera coupled to a personal listening device may also be assessed for attention features associated with an external noise.

Noise detection for skip back of audio

An electronic apparatus and method for control of playback of audio content based on ad-related restrictions is provided. The electronic apparatus acquires the audio content associated with a playback of multimedia content on a display device. The electronic apparatus extracts an audio portion from the audio content. The electronic apparatus generates audio features based on analysis of the audio portion. The electronic apparatus determines the audio portion as an advertisement audio, based on a match between the audio features and information associated with the advertisement audio in a database of advertisement content. The electronic apparatus determines a location of the advertisement audio in a playback timeline of the audio content. The electronic apparatus controls the playback of the audio content via an audio reproduction device, based on the location. The playback is controlled such that the advertisement audio is inaudible in a duration of the playback of the audio content.

Playback control of audio content based on ad-related restrictions

A method for providing selectivity to a speech-to-text system operates a voice transcription assistant coupled to the speech-to-text system such that speech detected by the speech-to-text system is not transcribed into text for display to a user unless the voice transcription assistant determines that the detected speech is relevant to the user. Smart glasses, including at least one microphone, a speech-to-text processing unit, a display, and a voice transcription assistant, provide selective speech-to-text functionality. The voice transcription assistant has one or more processors; and logic encoded in one or more non-transitory media for execution by the one or more processors and when executed operable to prevent the speech-to-text processing unit providing text to the display in response to the reception of speech by the microphone unless the logic determines that the received speech is relevant to the user.

Selective speech-to-text for deaf or severely hearing impaired

An electronic device and method for authentication of users based on re-entry of passwords is provided. The electronic device retrieves a pre-stored password associated with a user and a predefined number associated with the retrieved pre-stored password. The retrieved predefined number corresponds to a number of times an entry of a correct password is required for an authentication of the user. The electronic device receives a set of user inputs that corresponds to an entered password associated with the user. The electronic device compares, for the number of times associated with the user, the entered password in each user input with the retrieved pre-stored password. The electronic device determines that the entered password in each user input corresponds to the retrieved pre-stored password, based on the comparison. The electronic device authenticates the user based on the determination and controls a display device to render authentication information based on the authentication.

Authentication of users based on re-entry of passwords

An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus is coupled with an ultraviolet light source. The electronic apparatus acquires information associated with a first object. The acquired information relates to one of a location of the first object, a distance between the first object and the ultraviolet light source, or an angular orientation of the first object from the ultraviolet light source. The electronic apparatus determines, based on the acquired information, one or more control parameters for the ultraviolet light source to disinfect the first object. The one or more control parameters relate to at least one of an amount of time for emission of the ultraviolet light, a wavelength of an ultraviolet light emitted by the ultraviolet light source, or an inclination of the emitted ultraviolet light. The electronic apparatus controls, based on the determined one or more control parameters, the ultraviolet light source to disinfect the first object.

An electronic apparatus and method for retransmission of signals using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is disclosed. The electronic apparatus includes a controller to control a movement of a UAV to a location within a signal coverage area associated with a remote transmitter. The electronic apparatus further includes receiver circuitry disposed on the UAV to receive a first signal from the remote transmitter. The first signal corresponds to a first wireless communication standard. The electronic apparatus further includes a signal processor to process the first signal to obtain a second signal and transmission circuitry to control one or more antennas disposed on the UAV to transmit a beam of the second signal to an electronic device that includes one or more receivers. The second signal corresponds to a second wireless communication standard which is same as or different from the first wireless communication standard.

Retransmission of signals using aerial vehicles

An electronic device and method for delivery of extended emergency notifications through sensory feedback is provided. The electronic device receives a signal from an Emergency Alert System (EAS) that includes one or more of a broadcast system or an Internet-based system. The electronic device extracts emergency information from the received signal. Thereafter, the electronic device determines an external device that is communicatively coupled to the electronic device. The electronic device controls the external device to generate a type of sensory feedback that corresponds to an emergency alert. The type of sensory feedback is generated based on at least a portion of the emergency information.

Delivery of extended emergency notifications through sensory feedback

An apparatus is provided for disinfection of an object. The apparatus includes a rotatable platform, a reflective surface on the rotatable platform, and a transmissive base to carry the object. The apparatus acquires information associated with the object, which includes one of a size of the object, a relative position, or an angular orientation of the object with respect to an ultraviolet light source. The apparatus determines one or more control parameters based on the acquired information, which includes one of a distance between the transmissive base and the reflective surface, a time period, or a speed of rotation of the rotatable platform. Based on the one or more control parameters, the apparatus controls a movement of the transmissive base and the rotation of the rotatable platform, to cause the reflective surface to reflect an ultraviolet light emitted by the ultraviolet light source onto the object, via the transmissive base.

The circuitry extracts, by the monitor application, one or more first network resource identifiers associated with the network resource from the one or more requests. The circuity compares, by the monitor application, the first network resource identifiers with the blacklist associated with the monitor application. The circuitry controls, by the monitor application, the execution of the third-party application based on the comparison.
