Various embodiments of this disclosure relate to generation and reception of signals comprising cyclically shifted basis functions. A device may obtain a set of modulation symbols and modulate a plurality of basis functions based on the set of modulation symbols to generate a signal. The plurality of basis functions may comprise cyclically shifted versions of a basis function and a periodic autocorrelation function of the basis function may comprise an ideal (e.g., perfect) periodic autocorrelation function.

Generation and reception of signals comprising cyclically shifted orthogonal basis functions

A first communication device and a second communication device for an iterative code design are provided. The first communication device generates and transmits sets of parity symbols and receives the transmitted sets of parity symbols from a second communication device. The present application allows enhancing short packet data retransmission performance under short delay constraints. The invention relates to a client device () and a network access node () for transmitting and receiving a random access preamble. The modulation sequence for the random access preamble is based on a first sequence and a second sequence. The first sequence is a sequence from a set of near-orthogonal sequences and the second sequence is a sequence from a set of constant envelope sequences. Due to its construction, the random access preamble herein provides low PAPR and suppresses the side-lobes in its auto-correlation function while producing a set of preambles with low cross-correlation.
