An endovascular device monitoring system is provided that determines, based on movement of the endovascular device past a selected reference location, at least one of a movement rate of an endovascular device and position of a distal end of an endovascular device in a body of a patient.

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for coordinated laser delivery and imaging during an interventional procedure. A method may include activating an imaging source to provide a pulsed imaging signal and activating a laser source to provide a pulsed laser signal while the imaging source remains activated. The method may include coordinating the pulsed laser signal and the pulsed imaging signal to output each pulse of the pulsed laser signal and each pulse of the pulsed imaging signal in non-overlapping time windows. A system may include a controller in communication with the laser source and the imaging source for coordinating the output of the laser signal and the imaging signal.

Embodiments include a catheter system comprising an elongated housing having a housing channel disposed between a first proximal end and a first distal end. The first distal end includes a ramp, having an inclining proximal section and an apex section, and a nose section. The catheter system further includes a rail wire channel in communication with the ramp but not the nose section and a laser delivery member being at least partially disposed within the housing channel and movable therein. In some embodiments, the catheter system includes a rail wire fixedly attached to and terminating at the first distal end of the elongated housing, wherein the rail wire extends through the rail wire channel, and wherein the laser delivery member is slidably coupled to the rail wire.

Catheter systems comprise distal end features adapted to cut and remove at least portions of an occlusion that generally correspond to dimensions of an inner lumen of a catheter.

A sheath is coupled to the coupling, the sheath including a distal end adapted to be disposed in the subject. A laser energy delivery device may include a housing, and a coupling is carried by the housing and adapted to couple to a laser energy generator. A sheath is carried by the housing, and the sheath includes a distal end adapted to be disposed in the subject. A plurality of transport members are carried by the sheath, and the plurality of transport members are adapted to receive laser energy at the coupling, transmit laser energy through the sheath, and deliver laser energy to the subject. A fluid-driven motor is carried by the housing and adapted to be driven upon receiving a fluid from a fluid source. A drive wire is carried by the sheath and eccentrically coupled to the distal end of the sheath, and the drive wire is adapted to be rotatably driven by the fluid-driven motor and rotates to eccentrically rotate the distal end of the sheath.

Catheter devices for ablation and removal of occlusions from blood vessels and methods of using the same are provided. Catheter devices are useful to ablate, cut, dislodge, and otherwise remove occlusions within a blood vessel that may limit or prevent proper circulation. Distal features of the catheter devices comprise arrangements of laser ablative or mechanical cutting features that generally provide enhanced surface areas and cutting functions. Spiral or helical arrangements are provided to aid in cutting operations.

Devices, methods and systems for removing unwanted tissue from within a patient's vasculature system are provided. Specifically, a laser ablation catheter having a tip with an open, arched-shaped cross section is described. The cross section of the tip enhances the catheter's ability to ablate, separate, and/or dilate the various layers within a patient's vasculature, thereby facilitating the removal undesirable lesions and fibrous tissue within a patient's vasculature.

Lead tip removal is accomplished by first stabilizing an area around the lead tip attachment site in the heart wall. A balloon located at the tip of the lead when inflated expands substantially perpendicular to the lead, stabilizing the area around the lead tip. Upon further inflation, the balloon expands substantially parallel with the lead, causing the lead tip to pull away from the heart wall. In another embodiment, a sheath is inserted over the lead and advanced to the heart wall. A passive or active stabilization device is attached to the sheath tip to stabilize the area around the lead tip. In another embodiment, a balloon is located at the tip of the sheath that, when inflated, expands substantially perpendicular to the lead, stabilizing the area around the lead tip. The lead tip is removed with less force due to the stabilization provided to the lead tip area.
