A call challenger can receive a user input from a called party identity to opt-in to a call challenge service, and a second user input of a keyword. When the call challenger receives a call directed to a user equipment of the called party identity, the call challenger can prompt the calling party to provide an audible response. In response to a receipt of the audible response, the call challenger can convert the audible response to a text. The call challenger can compare the text with the keyword to determine if there is a sufficient match. In response to the determining the output of the comparing does not satisfy a threshold match score, the call challenger can prevent the call from connecting with the user equipment.

Intercepting and challenging unwanted phone calls

A method includes receiving, at an access point, an access request from a first device after an expiration of a first passcode. The access request is encrypted based on the first passcode. The method includes making a determination by the access point before an expiration of a usage time of a first passcode usage list that an identifier of the first device is included in the first passcode usage list. The method also includes, in response to making the determination, generating, at the access point, data representing a second passcode by encrypting the second passcode using the first passcode; and sending the data representing the second passcode from the access point to the first device.

When an access point device is aware of an internet access failure, the access point device can attempt to re-route the baseband content through a different access point for the purpose of using its hard-wired internet connection. An administrative function can allow the access point device to tunnel through the internet service provider (ISP) of another access point device if permission is granted to do so. The permission can be granted beforehand or it can be granted to on the fly. Consequently, if the packets cannot route via the normal, hard-wired path, a message to a secondary transceiver of the access point device can instruct the access point device to find an alternate path via the ISP of the other access point device.

Method and apparatus for optionally running mobile applications locally or virtually

Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for relaying information from a cardiac pacemaker to an external device. Logic on the pacemaker modulates a heartbeat clock of the pacemaker to encode information onto a blood pressure sequence by adding or subtracting a small subinterval to or from a pulse repetition interval of the pacemaker. A muscle stimulator beats the heart according to the modulated sequence. A monitoring device external to the body monitors the blood pressure to retrieve the encoded information, or message. The encoded information is then decoded to determine the information in the message. This information may concern the pacemaker as well as other devices within the body that communicate with the pacemaker such as blood monitors, etc. Since the message is conveyed via simple modulation of the heart beat intervals, no separate transmitter is required in the pacemaker which would otherwise increase cost and decrease battery life.

Mobile applications and methods for conveying performance information of a cardiac pacemaker

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a request to permit equipment of a subscriber of a mobile service provider that provides a subscribed service via a licensed frequency spectrum to access the subscribed service via a wireless access terminal according to an unlicensed frequency spectrum. A radio adapted to provide access to the subscribed service via the licensed frequency spectrum is identified, wherein the wireless access terminal resides within a coverage area of the identified radio. A current utilization of the identified radio is determined and a response to the request is generated according to the current utilization of the identified radio, wherein access to the subscribed service via the wireless access terminal is conditional according to the response to the request, resulting in conditional access. Dynamic wireless link security can be used to connect a wireless computing device to a wireless network. A determination is made as to the minimum level of security required and a wireless communication channel corresponding to that level of security is selected from among multiple, available wireless communication channels with varying levels of security. At least one of the wireless communication channels is an unencrypted channel with access control, which can be used when information is already encrypted or when encryption is not needed due to low sensitivity of the information. The determination can be made with user input or by inspecting metadata in content to be sent over the wireless link.

Example devices are disclosed. For example, a device may include a processor, a plurality of translation lookaside buffers, a plurality of switches, and a memory management unit. Each of the translation lookaside buffers may be assigned to a different process of the processor, each of the plurality of switches may include a register for storing a different process identifier, and each of the plurality of switches may be associated with a different one of the translation lookaside buffer buffers. The memory management unit may be for receiving a virtual memory address and a process identifier from the processor and forwarding the process identifier to the plurality of switches. Each of the plurality of switches may be for connecting the memory management unit to a translation associated with the switch when there is a match between the process identifier and the different process identifier stored by the register of the switch.
