An audio processor and method of audio processing for an amplifier system is described. The audio processor may receive an audio signal and adapt the audio signal generating a time varying offset. The time varying offset may be combined with the audio signal resulting in a shifted the audio signal level. The processed audio signal may also be clipped to remove the negative samples values. The processed signal may be used to drive an amplifier designed to only accept positive (or negative) signals such as a class C amplifier.

Audio processor

An audio processor for a multi voice coil acoustic transducer is described. The audio processor may receive or generate an audio signal. The audio signal may have one or more phase shifts applied. The audio signal may be used to drive a first coil of a dual voice coil acoustic transducer. The phase-shifted audio signals may drive the other coils of a multi voice-coil acoustic transducer. The phase shift is selected so that the phase difference between the audio signal driving each voice coil may result in destructive interference in the multi voice-coil loudspeaker resulting in reduced or no acoustic output due to the audio signal.

A method and apparatus of audio processing is described. An audio processor may receive a multi-channel audio signal. In a first mode of operation, an audio processor may output a first audio signal on a first multi-channel audio output and a second audio signal on a second multi-channel audio output. In a second mode of operation, the audio processor may output a third audio signal on the first multi-channel audio output and a sub-woofer audio signal on at least one channel of the second multi-channel output.

A loudspeaker drive circuit comprises an input for receiving an audio signal and a signal processor for processing the audio signal before application to the loudspeaker. The signal processor processes the audio signal to derive a loudspeaker drive signal which results in the loudspeaker membrane reaching its maximum displacement in both directions of diaphragm displacement.
