A digital radiographic image sensor includes a flexible first substrate with an image sensor array. A scintillator is formed over the array, and bonding pads in a peripheral region outside the array are connected to the array. A second substrate is attached to a bottom of the first substrate and includes a scribed or perforated break line to enable removal of a peripheral region of the second substrate.

Flexible substrate module and fabrication method

An image sensor array formed on a flexible first substrate is supported by a flexible second substrate attached thereto. The second substrate has a top surface with an adhesive thereon for attaching the substrates together. There is described a method of manufacturing a digital radiography panel. The method includes providing a scintillator screen and spray coating an acrylic adhesive composition on the scintillator screen. A flat panel detector and the scintillator screen with acrylic adhesive composition are compressed together at a force of about 5 psi to about 15 psi, at an atmospheric pressure of about 0.3 Torr to about 100.0 Torr for a time sufficient to affix the flat panel detector to the scintillator screen to form the digital radiography panel.

A digital radiography detector includes a housing having first and second spaced planar members and four side walls defining a cavity. A radiographic image detector assembly is mounted within the cavity for converting a radiographic image to an electronic radiographic image. The detector assembly includes a detector array mounted on a stiffener. A shock absorbing elastomer assembly is located within the cavity for absorbing shock to the detector array/stiffener in directions perpendicular to and parallel to the detector array/stiffener.

The radiography detector assembly includes a photodetector array mounted on the baseplate and a scintillator screen in contact with the photodetector array, wherein the scintillator screen has one or more edges, and including a clamp mounted on the baseplate for clamping the scintillator screen on the one or more edges to the photodetector array to prevent movement of the screen.
