A medical assembly may comprise: a substrate configured to be disposed in a body at a distal tip of a medical device; and a position sensing system, including a magnetic field sensor mounted to the substrate. The magnetic field sensor may be configured to provide a signal that indicates a position or orientation of the distal tip of the medical device. The medical assembly may further comprise at least one camera mounted to the substrate; and at least one lighting element mounted to the substrate.

An example system for delivering an implantable heart valve is disclosed. The system includes a connection assembly including: an inner shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a first coupling member disposed along a portion of the distal end region, wherein the first coupling member includes a plurality of apertures. The connection assembly also includes a support shaft and a second coupling member, wherein the second coupling member includes a stem, wherein the stem includes a groove extending circumferentially around the stem. The connection assembly also includes a plurality of bearings, wherein a portion of each bearing is disposed in a portion of the groove. The connection assembly also includes a locking cap coupled to the inner shaft, wherein a portion of the locking cap is configured to cover at least a portion of each of the plurality of bearings.

Medical device including attachable components

An example system for delivering an implantable heart valve is disclosed. The system includes an inner shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a first coupling member disposed along a portion of the distal end region, wherein the first coupling member includes a first aperture. The system also includes a support shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a second coupling member disposed along a portion of the proximal end region, wherein the second coupling member includes a stem, wherein the stem includes a groove extending circumferentially around the stem. The system also includes a locking clip coupled to the inner shaft, wherein coupling the inner shaft to the support shaft includes extending at least a portion of the locking clip through the first aperture and into at least a portion of the groove.

Medical device delivery systems and methods for making and using medical device delivery systems are disclosed. An example delivery system for an implantable medical device includes an implantable heart valve including an inner shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a first engagement member disposed along a portion of the distal end region and a tip assembly configured to attach to the inner shaft. The tip assembly includes a nosecone having a distal end region and a proximal end region, a second engagement member disposed within at least a portion of the nosecone, the second engagement member including a first locking member, the first locking member configured to deflect from a first position to a second engaged position. Further, attaching the tip assembly to the inner shaft includes deflecting the first locking member such that the locking member is coupled to the first engagement member.

A system for delivering an implantable medical device includes a handle housing. An outer sheath is coupler secured to a proximal end of an outer sheath that is configured to cover at least a portion of the implantable medical device. An outer sheath drive assembly is operably coupled to the outer sheath coupler and is configured to translate the outer sheath relative to the handle housing. An actuation shaft coupler is secured to a proximal end of an activation shaft. An actuation shaft drive assembly is operably coupled to the actuation shaft coupler and is configured to cause the actuation shaft to translate relative to the handle housing and shift the implantable medical device from a first position and a second position in which the implantable medical device is radially expanded relative to the first position.

Motorized telescoping medical device delivery system

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example system for delivering an implantable medical device includes an outer shaft and an inner catheter, each having a proximal end, a distal portion and a lumen extending therein, wherein the inner catheter extends within a portion of the outer shaft lumen. The system also includes an actuation shaft extending within a portion of the inner catheter lumen, wherein a distal end of the actuation shaft is coupled to the implantable medical device. The system also includes a guidewire shaft extending within a portion of the inner catheter lumen and a coupling component including a distal end region, a proximal end region and a length, wherein the actuation shaft and the guidewire shaft are coupled to the coupling component such that actuation of the coupling component translates the actuation shaft and the tubular guidewire shaft simultaneously.

A system for delivering an implantable medical device includes an outer sheath drive assembly and an actuation shaft drive assembly. The outer sheath drive assembly is configured to cause an outer sheath to translate relative to a handle, and includes an outer sheath drive motor. The actuation shaft drive assembly is configured to cause an actuation shaft to translate relative to the handle, and includes an actuation shaft drive motor. The outer sheath drive motor and/or the actuation shaft drive motor may be removed from the system, and the outer sheath drive assembly and/or the actuation shaft drive assembly may instead be manually driven.

A delivery system for an implantable medical device includes an outer shaft and an inner shaft translatable within the outer shaft. An internally exposed coil is disposed within the inner shaft and is electrically coupled to an externally exposed coil that can be used to inductively transmit a current flowing through the internally exposed coil. An actuation member extends within the inner shaft and includes a coupler, a force translation rod that extends proximally from the coupler and a plurality of push pull rods that extend distally from the coupler and that releasably couple to the implantable medical device. As the force translation rod moves relative to the internally exposed coil, an impedance varies in accordance with relative position.

An example system for delivering an implantable medical device includes a handle member including a seal assembly, wherein the seal assembly includes an outer sheath seal assembly coupled to an outer sheath, the outer sheath including a curved portion, the outer sheath seal assembly being translatable relative to the handle. The seal assembly also includes a first fixed seal assembly fixed relative to the handle, the first fixed seal assembly including a first alignment surface and a compression shaft coupled to the first fixed seal assembly. Additionally, first alignment surface is designed to align the compression shaft with at least a portion of the outer sheath.

The medical device may include an elongate shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region, a lumen extending therethrough, and a tension resistance member extending at least partially between the proximal end region and the distal end region. An exoskeleton may be disposed along an outer surface of the shaft. The exoskeleton may include a plurality of discrete segments engaged with one another. At least one of the segments may be coupled to the tension resistance member.

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example system for delivering an implantable medical device includes a handle member including a seal assembly, wherein the seal assembly includes a turnbuckle assembly including a stationary member and a cap coupled to the stationary member. Further, the stationary member is coupled to an inner member and the cap is coupled to an exoskeleton disposed along an outer surface of the inner member. Additionally, the cap is designed to shift relative to the stationary member such that the exoskeleton is put in compression.

An example delivery system for an implantable medical device includes an inner shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region, a non-circular lumen extending therethrough. The delivery system also includes a tension resistance member extending at least partially between the proximal end region and the distal end region, a deployment catheter disposed along the outer surface of the shaft, and an actuation shaft disposed within the non-circular lumen. A tissue modification apparatus includes at least a first plurality of grippers aligned in a plane adapted to secure a first edge of a patch of tissue. The plurality of grippers are each secured to a first force actuator. The first plurality of grippers are each adapted to pivot relative to the first force actuator about an axis perpendicular to the plane. In some cases, a plurality of grippers are attached to a force actuator by a passive force transfer mechanism. In some cases, individual force actuators are attached by pivoted connections to individual grippers. Methods of treating tissue can secure tensioned tissue to a frame to retain the tension during a treatment (e.g., cross-linking the tissue with a chemical cross-linker).
