A fluid level sensing systems including a resistive element having an upper end portion disposed in an upper portion of a container and a lower end portion disposed in a lower portion of the container. The resistance of the resistive element varies between the upper and the lower portions of the container. An at least partially conductive strip having substantially the same length as the resistive element is disposed in the container generally parallel thereto and at approximately the same level in the container as the resistive element. An input signal source is coupled to the resistive element by a series resistor.

Resistive fluid level sensing and control system

A welding machine having an embedded controller with a processor, a network gateway interface device coupled to the embedded controller, an operating program segment stored in a memory of the embedded controller, a gateway communication program segment stored at least partially in the memory of the embedded controller, and a resource sharing program segment stored in the memory of the embedded controller, the resource sharing program segment allocates processing time of the processor between the gateway communication program segment and the operating program segment. The machine may be monitored, controlled, accessed and updated with software over a network from a remote user interface, embodied for example on an Internet browser.

Welding machine, system and method therefor

A proximity detector that employs a Hall-effect flux sensor disposed between the like poles of two magnets. The opposing fields of the magnets define a null flux field at a sensing plane of the Hall-effect sensor. A proximate ferrous object will deflect the null point and will therefore apply flux to the sensor. The sensor generates a signal indicative of the presence or absence of the ferrous object. In manufacturing a preferred spatial position of the null point with respect to the Hall-effect sensor is defined by adjusting the field strength of at least one of the opposed magnets.
