In an example, a quick release license plate holder with a low and/or compact profile is provided. In an example, the holder includes a bolt assembly having a first end to attach to a vehicle and a second end to quick release a support plate for holding the vehicle license plate. In an example, the quick release and re-attachment may be tool-less and/or may not require a re-leveling. In another example, the quick release may not require the same specific tool as a typical OEM license plate bracket and/or may require less application of the same specific tool.

In accordance with an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein an apparatus comprising an alert device, an optical input device; and a controller coupled to the alert device and the optical input device. The controller is configured to send an alert via the alert device in response to a predetermined event. The controller is configured to recognize whether a face is detected by the optical input device, and to discontinue the alert responsive to determining that the face is being detected by the optical input device.

Techniques for diminishing an appearance of a participant's double chin during video conferencing. A participant's image is captured with an input device and processed so as to diminish the appearance of a double chin between the participant's chin and neck. The processed image with a diminished double chin appearance is outputted to both the participant's video conferencing graphical user interface and to the graphical user interface of a remote participant that the participant is communicating with in the video conferencing session. The diminished double chin appearance may be dynamically modified in real time during the video conference.

A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes receiving video input data associated with a video stream and identifying one or more spatial plane coordinates within the video input data. The spatial plane coordinates can be associated with a smartphone configured to operate as a token in a video presentation associated with the video stream. The method also includes receiving location information that includes accelerometer data associated with the smartphone, and identifying a location of the smartphone based on the one or more spatial plane coordinates and the location information that includes the accelerometer data. In other embodiments, the method may include providing image data associated with a representation of the token as an overlay for a resultant video stream. The location information can include orientation data that includes a direction to which the smartphone can point, and an angle of rotation associated with the smartphone.

System and method for providing a token in a video environment

In one embodiment, a telephone locally buffers and then processes received voice data to resolve communication impediments and for other reasons. The locally buffered voice data can be, for example, tonally adjusted to accommodate a hearing deficiency of a listener, translated, transcribed, and automatically or manually slowed down to improve comprehension and for other reasons. As a result of the buffering occurring locally on the telephone, voice data originating from voicemail systems and voice menu systems may be played back for improved comprehension independently of the buffering capabilities provided by those systems.

A method for providing communication with an automated voice system includes establishing a first communication session between a caller and the automated voice system. The first communication session includes a call thread. The method also includes receiving a signal indicative of a call event. In response to receiving the signal indicative of the call event, a state of the call thread is saved. The method also includes establishing a second communication session between the caller and the automated voice system at a state of the call thread associated with the saved state of the call thread.

In one embodiment, a navigation system provides navigation directions within particular locations within a facility, such as within a corporate campus, airport, resort, building, etc. The navigation system may respond to navigation requests for different types of facility target destinations such as a location, a person, a movable item, an event, or a condition. Different location resources can be accessed depending on the type of requested target destination. For example, an employee database may be used to locate an office within the facility associated with navigation request that contains an employee name. A natural voice communication scheme can be used to access to the navigation system through a larger variety of networks and communication devices.
