The method includes centrifugally distributing a precursor including silicon, lithium, and an additional metal (M) selected from the group consisting of: aluminum (Al), chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti), niobium (Nb), molybdenum (Mo), zirconium (Zr), yttrium (Y), cerium (Ce), and combinations thereof by contacting the precursor with a rotating surface in a centrifugal atomizing reactor and solidifying the precursor to form a plurality of substantially round solid electroactive particles that include LiSiM, where x is greater than 0 to less than or equal to about 0.85 and y corresponds to a weight percent of M that is greater than or equal to 0.1 wt. % to less than or equal to about 10 wt. %.

Pre-lithiated silicon particles and methods of forming the same

Methods of making a negative electrode material for an electrochemical cell that cycles lithium ions is provided. The method may include centrifugally distributing a molten precursor comprising silicon, oxygen, and lithium by contacting the molten precursor with a rotating surface in a centrifugal atomizing reactor. The molten precursor is formed by combining lithium, silicon, and oxygen. For example, the precursor may be formed from a mixture comprising silicon dioxide (SiO), lithium oxide (LiO), and silicon (Si). The method may further include solidifying the molten precursor to form a plurality of substantially round solid electroactive particles comprising a mixture of lithium silicide (LiSi, where 0&#x3c;y&#x2264;4.4) and a lithium silicate (LiSiO) and having a D50 diameter of less than or equal to about 20 micrometers.

Methods of producing pre-lithiated silicon oxide electroactive materials comprising silicides and silicates

The present disclosure relates to solid-state batteries and methods for forming solid-state batteries. The method includes contacting a polymeric precursor and an assembled battery including two or more electrodes defining a space therebetween, where the polymeric precursor fills the space defined between the two or more electrodes and any voids between the solid-state electroactive particles of each electrode; and reacting the polymeric precursor to form a polymeric gel electrolyte that forms a solid-state electrolyte layer in the space between the two or more electrodes and fills the voids between the solid-state electroactive particles of the electrodes. In other instances the method includes disposing the polymeric precursor on exposed surfaces of an electrode and reacting the polymeric precursor to form the solid-state electrolyte. In still other instances, the method includes disposing the polymeric precursor on a releasable film and reacting the polymeric precursor to form the free-standing electrolyte layer.

Gel electrolyte for solid-state battery

A system and method for personalization of adjustable features of a vehicle. The system includes a processor and an actuator. The processor detectors key points of a person from a two-dimensional image and predicts a pose of the person. The processor translates a respective position of the key points from a two-dimensional coordinate system to a three-dimensional coordinate system based in part on the pose and measurements of distances between the key points. The processor determines a baseline configuration of an adjustable feature of the vehicle based in part on measurements between the key points in the three-dimensional coordinate system. The processor causes an actuator to adjust the adjustable feature to conform to the baseline configuration.

Personalization settings based on body measurements

A method of making a negative electrode material for an electrochemical cell that cycles lithium ions is provided that includes centrifugally distributing a molten precursor comprising silicon and lithium by contacting the molten precursor with a rotating surface in a centrifugal atomizing reactor. Methods of forming prelithiated silicon alloy electroactive materials

A vehicle including an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) and operator-adjustable devices is described. Controlling the vehicle includes identifying a vehicle operator, and capturing a plurality of operator-selectable settings associated with the plurality of operator-adjustable devices for the vehicle operator. A base profile and a second profile are determined for the vehicle operator based upon the first subset associated with non-autonomous operation of the vehicle and the second subset associated with ADAS, respectively. The plurality of operator-adjustable devices are controlled to the operator-selectable settings associated with the base profile when the vehicle is operating in the non-autonomous mode, and the plurality of operator-adjustable devices are controlled to the operator-selectable settings associated with the second profile when the vehicle is being controlled at least in part by one or more of the subsystems of the ADAS.
