A method for analyzing data provided by a robot system located in a plant. The method includes operating a plurality of robots in the robot system and collecting first level data concerning operating parameters of each robot while they are being operated. The method further includes analyzing the first level data in a first data collection device located in the plant using first level analyzation software, analyzing the analyzed first level data collected in a second data collection device using second level analyzation software, and analyzing the analyzed second level data collected in a third data collection device in the cloud using third level analyzation software. A web portal outside of the plant can be used to gain access to the analyzed third level data.

Robotic application equipment monitoring and predictive analytics

A method and an apparatus for displaying three-dimensional workcell data includes a hand-held pendant that is provided with 3-D workcell data representing a model of a machine and associated components in a workcell. The hand-held pendant has a display that generates a 3-D visual representation of the workcell data. The pendant can be operated by a user to manipulate the visual representation to change a user viewpoint and to show motion of the machine with associated process information.

A method for controlling a robot includes the step of controlling operation of the robot with a robot controller executing a control program having a plurality of process instructions. Associated process data for each of predetermined ones of the process instructions executed by the robot controller is then collected. The collected process data is subsequently stored in a form uniquely identified by at least one unique identifier. The at least one unique identifier may include both the program identifier and the process instruction identifier. The collected process data may be stored on the robot controller.

A method and system for handling a swing metal panel using a robot's drive axis servo motor feedback to eliminate the need for the sensors and breakaway devices is provided. Using the servo motor feedback for this function reduces cost and improves reliability. The method also applies the servo motor feedback to hold a panel in position and exchange the panel between robots during the painting or coating process.

Servo motor monitoring and hood/deck exchange to enhance the interior coating process

An apparatus and a method for controlling a paint canister filling operation includes a controller for determining a total volume of paint required for a painting operation, calculating a required piston position and actuating a motor to move a piston in the interior of the canister to the required position. The controller opens a supply valve connected between the canister interior and a paint supply to fill the canister and monitors the torque applied by the motor to maintain the piston at the required position. When the torque exceeds a set point representing the torque value required to maintain the piston at the required position when the total required paint is in the canister interior, the controller closes the supply valve.
