A housing () for an electronic device () includes an optical film () having an optical transmittance for substantially normally incident light having a band edge separating first and second wavelength ranges, where the first wavelength range extends from about 400 nm to about 700 nm and the second wavelength range is at least about 100 nm wide and disposed between about 800 nm and about 1100 nm. For substantially normally incident light, an average optical reflectance of the optical film is greater than about 90% in the first wavelength range, and an average optical transmittance of the optical film is greater than about 80% in the second wavelength range. For at least one frequency in a range of about 0.1 GHz to about 90 GHz and for substantially normally incident radiation, the optical film transmits at least about 95% of the incident radiation.

Optical stack and housing for electronic device

A film includes a polymeric material and a plurality of particles dispersed therein. The polymeric material includes a plurality of elongate polymeric elements oriented along substantially a same first direction and interconnecting the particles. A ratio of a volume of the plurality of particles to a volume of the polymeric material is at least 5. An elongate portion of at least a first elongate polymeric element in the plurality of elongate polymeric elements may conform to and be bonded to a first particle in the plurality of particles along an entire length of the elongate portion. The first elongate polymeric element may extend from the elongate portion at least to a second particle in the plurality of particles.

A light control film is described comprising a light input surface and alight output surface opposite the light input surface; alternating transmissive regions and absorptive regions disposed between the light input surface and the light output surface, wherein the absorptive regions comprise light-absorbing or light-reflecting particles and a dried aqueous dispersion of an organic polymer. The light control film can have improved on-axis transmission in combination with sufficiently high sheet resistance such that the film does not detract from the responsiveness of a touch screen of an electronic device. A film includes a polymeric material and a plurality of particles dispersed therein. The polymeric material includes a plurality of elongate polymeric elements oriented along substantially a same first direction and interconnecting the particles. An elongate end portion of at least a first elongate polymeric element in the plurality of elongate polymeric elements conforms and is bonded to a first particle in the plurality of particles along an entire length of the elongate end portion. An elongate mid portion of at least a second elongate polymeric element in the plurality of elongate polymeric elements conforms and is bonded to a second particle in the plurality of particles along an entire length of the elongate mid portion with the second elongate polymeric element extending away from the second particle from opposite ends of the elongate mid portion. Multilayer films and processes are also described.

A transfer article with a thickness of less than 3 micrometers includes a first acrylate layer that is releasable from a metal or doped semiconductor release layer at a release value of from 2 to 50 grams/inch. The article includes a functional layer overlaying the first acrylate layer. The functional layer includes at least one microfractured inorganic layer about 3 nanometers to about 200 nanometers thick, which has a plurality of toolmarks interspersed with cracks.

Patterned transfer articles

Foam compositions are provided including a polylactic acid polymer; second (e.g., polyvinyl acetate) polymer having a glass transition temperature (T) of at least 25&#xb0; C.; and plasticizer. In one embodiment, a film is described comprising a mixture of semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer; polyvinyl acetate polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) midpoint as measured by differential scanning calorimetry of at least 25&#xb0; C.; and plasticizer; wherein the film is oriented. In another embodiment, a film is described comprising a mixture comprising semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer, polymer having a midpoint Tg as measured by differential scanning calorimetry of at least 25&#xb0; C., and plasticizer; wherein the mixture exhibits a single midpoint Tg and the single midpoint Tg ranges from 40&#xb0; C. to 65&#xb0; C.; and wherein the film is oriented and the oriented film exhibits a higher midpoint Tg ranging from 40&#xb0; C. to 65&#xb0; C. and a lower midpoint Tg ranging from 5 to 25&#xb0; C.

Oriented polylactic acid polymer based film

Provided are compositions and materials that have varistor properties and are suitable for use in electrical stress control devices and surge arrestor devices. The compositions and materials include a polymeric material and calcined calcium copper titanate filler material and have a reversible non-linear current-voltage characteristic.

An antenna adapted for placement in the window of a vehicle includes a flexible substrate having a pair of opposing surfaces, at least one of which is provided with electrically conductive metal traces in the form of a pattern configured to receive and transmit one or more electromagnetic signals. The pitch, trace width, and thickness of the metal traces are selected such that the antenna has an area-averaged resistivity of no greater than about 1 ohm/square for a pre-determined area-averaged transmission value in the visible region.
