The method tracks keywords about a non-user of a computer and stores it in various contact profiles. The keywords in the contact profiles can be compared to stored content and content related to the keywords in the contact profile may be communicated to the user.

Multi-user multi-input desktop workspaces and applications are described. In one aspect, a single computing device presents multiple workspaces on a desktop area. The desktop area is designed for multiple users to provide in parallel inputs. Each workspace is configured for use by a particular set of users. Responsive to user direction, user access restrictions to a particular workspace of the multiple workspaces is suspended to allow a new user to interface within context of a particular workspace.

A method and user interface permits the display of objects in a portion of a display. The objects may initial be a first size, then shrink to a smaller size after a period of time. The objects may stack on top of each other. In addition, the objects may disappear all together after a further amount of time.

Un-intrusive display areas

A method for rebalancing bandwidth allocations to peripheral and other devices, particularly for isochronous communications, connected to a computer system via a bus in order to accommodate bandwidth requirements of a newly added device or newly launched application is described. The method is particularly useful in the context of buses such as the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and the IEEE 1394 bus (FireWire) which allow a plurality of devices to be connected to a computer system and even be powered by the bus. The method utilizes a Policy to identify preferred configurations and, furthermore, extends the USB and other standards to specify devices that can dynamically respond to commands to change their bandwidth to another setting.
