An emergency vehicle throttle management system includes a system controller having a main body, a processor, a memory, a multiplex connectivity component, a powertrain connectivity component, and a life safety connectivity component. The life safety connectivity component functioning to communicate directly with one of the life safety systems onboard the emergency vehicle. The powertrain connection component functioning to communicate with the powertrain components of the emergency vehicle which are mechanically coupled to the life safety system. The system controller including functionality for transmitting a powertrain resource request to the powertrain of the emergency vehicle in response to a throttle adjustment request received from the life safety system or a command from the throttle pedal of the vehicle. A throttle rule management unit evaluates error notifications received from the multiplex system, and selectively instructs the throttle source circuit to generate powertrain resource requests.

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a substantially automated fire suppression system, based on a distributed control communications network. The distributed system can comprise a communication network and at least two control components that are communicatively coupled with the communication network. A first control component can perform a first fire suppression operation, transmit first fire suppression operation data to the communication network, and receive second fire suppression operation data from the communication network. A second control component can perform a second fire suppression operation, transmit second fire suppression operation data to the communication network, receive first fire suppression operation data from the communication network, and alter the second fire suppression operation based at least upon the received first fire suppression operation data.

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a fire apparatus pump pressure governor. The system may comprise a controller that is configured to receive from, and provide instruction or data to, other control devices to facilitate in controlling of the pressure of a fire apparatus pump and fluid supply, both to and from the pump. A method may be devised to facilitate in controlling the pump operations, and to report a status of the pump to other controllers within a network locally, communicatively coupled with the governor, along with other networks or devices that are remotely communicatively coupled with the fire apparatus.

A one-touch Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) is provided that allows for a simplified user interface and simplified user operation. The user interface allows the CAFS to activate upon a single press of a single button. An electronic controller checks that several CAFS device parameters show that the CAFS is capable of operating. The controller gathers the device parameter data from a diagnostic system present in the CAFS that gives data pertaining to whether water is flowing, whether foam concentrate is present in the system, whether foam is flowing, and whether the temperature of an air compressor is within a safe range for operation. If the above device parameters are found to be in condition for safe operation of the CAFS, the controller will start and maintain operation until either one of the above falls out of tolerance or the user initiates a shut down of the CAFS.

The disclosure is directed to a device for monitoring the thermodynamic state of a fluid flowing through a conduit. The device generally comprises a first electromechanical transducer acoustically coupled to the conduit, electronic drive means connected to the first electromechanical transducer to provide a driving electrical signal to the first electromechanical transducer whereby the first electromechanical transducer is oscillated to generate mechanical wave energy for transmission through the fluid flow, and a second electromechanical transducer acoustically coupled to the conduit and arranged in a spaced, acoustically coupled relation to the first electromechanical transducer to receive the mechanical wave energy transmitted through the fluid flow and conduit by the first electromechanical transducer and to convert the received mechanical wave energy into an electrical signal. The electric signal is integrated and conducted to an electronic device which is operable to detect changes in the electrical signal caused by a change in the thermodynamic state of the flowing fluid, to verify the time duration of detected changes in the electrical signal, to record events of detected changes having a time duration of more than a predetermined amount and to sound an alarm when the number of events recorded exceeds a predetermined number. The electronic device is also operatable to sound an alarm when any detected change in the thermodynamic state of the flowing fluid exceeds 30 minutes.
