Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that protect analytics for resources of a publisher from traffic directed to such resources by malicious entities. An analytics server receives a first message that includes an encrypted token and analytics data for a publisher-provided resource. The token includes a portion of the analytics data and a trust score indicating a likelihood that activity on the resource is attributed to a human (rather than an automated process). The analytics server decrypts the token. The analytics server determines a trustworthiness measure for the analytics data included in the first message based on the trust score (in the decrypted token) and a comparison of the analytics data in the first message and the portion of the analytics data (in the decrypted token). Based on the measure of trustworthiness, the analytics server performs analytics operations using the analytics data.

Data integrity

Conditionally combining data from several sources may include retrieving data from several sources in response to a single request and using one or more redirection responses. The request from a client device may include a device identifier, a third-party identifier, a join identifier based, at least in part, on the device identifier, and first data from a first source, such as a first cookie, associated with the received request. A redirection destination may be determined based on configuration data associated with the third-party identifier, such as whether one or more services are selected and/or activated by a publisher of a resource. A redirection response is transmitted to the client device responsive to the received request and includes the redirection destination and the join identifier. The first data from the received request and second data received from the redirection destination may be associated based on the join identifier.

Conditionally joining data from cookies

The subject technology provides configurations for propagating information from an initial analytics tracking data communication to subsequent analytics tracking data communications at an analytics server. In one example, the subject technology receives an analytics tracking data communication. The subject technology determines if the received analytics tracking data communication includes state changing information based on analytics tracking data included in the analytics tracking data communication. The subject technology then determines one or more attributes for propagating to subsequent analytics tracking data if the analytics tracking data communication includes state changing information. The state changing information are stored as one or more of the determined one or more attributes. The subject technology stores the analytics tracking data including the determined one or more attributes.

A method for loading a web page is provided. Primary executable script are asynchronously loaded. Commands associated with the primary executable script are pushed onto a first queue and processed by asynchronously loading secondary executable script if the command is a dependency command and pushing the dependency command onto a second queue; registering secondary executable script referenced in the command if the command is a fulfillment command, and pushing the command onto the second queue if the command is neither a dependency nor a fulfillment command. Commands in the second queue are processed by, if the command is a dependency command, determining if the secondary executable script referenced in the dependency command is registered, and associating the secondary executable script with an object if the secondary executable script is registered. If the command is not a dependency command, then the command is executed and removed from the second queue.

A method for sessionization of visitor activity includes receiving a first activity of a first client and a first client identifier from the first activity of the first client; the first client identifier stored at the first client; creating a first session from the first activity and the first client identifier; receiving a session link associated with the first activity; and creating a visitor-identified session based on the first client identifier, the first activity, and the session link.

An initial cookie value corresponding to a web page is received, and a domain depth of a uniform resource locator (URL) of the web page is identified. Cookie data including a name-value pair is generated for the web page. The name-value pair includes the initial cookie value and the identified domain depth. The generated cookie data is stored corresponding to a domain of the web page.
