The invention relates to an open cell, porous, selectively conductive member containing an elastomer that is reusable in use and preparation. The scaffold for the elastomer has conductive areas through conductive, z-axis pathways are provided which are electrically isolated from adjacent z-axis conductive pathways. The elastomer is non-adhesive and/or non tacky and allows for temporary connection of electronic components.

A strain relief connection and method therefor between a connector housing and a flat, elongated cable including a plurality of spaced parallel conductors and insulation integrally encasing the conductors. The connection includes an opening through the insulation having a perimeter defined by the insulation, a section of at least one conductor longitudinally extending across the opening, a coating of the insulation enclosing the section of the conductor, and cured adhesive attached to the connector housing and disposed in the opening to engage the insulation defining the perimeter of the opening, the section of the at least one conductor being embedded in the cured adhesive.

Flat cable/connector strain relief connection and method thereof

Apparatus and a method are disclosed for providing a microwave attenuator system using distributed (transmission line) reactive elements to achieve a reduction in the transmitted electrical signal amplitude. The attenuator system includes a fixed attenuator unit and an adjustable attenuator unit. The fixed attenuator unit contains a 'T' resistive attenuator component. Transmission line resonator components are added to the attenuator component to provide frequency selectively. The transmission line resonator components are coupled to the resistive attenuator component in such a way as not to compromise the impedance match of the transmission line. The step adjustable loss component includes shunt transmission lines coupled to the center conductor of the transmission line by means of a spring contacting mechanism. The shunt transmission lines include preselected resistive elements. The preselected resistive elements provide incremental known attenuation characteristics for manual fine response step adjustments.
