A slope sensitive pitch adjustor for a bicycle seat includes a rotatable seat support, a gravity sensor mounted thereto, a means for rotating the rotatable seat support, and an automated controller configured to drive the rotating means in response to an acceleration signal received from the gravity sensor. The automated controller stores data representing an initial condition of a pitch angle of the rotatable seat support with respect to horizontal and executes a control algorithm to maintain the initial condition when the bicycle is ridden over changing gradients.

Device authentication is implemented at the application layer of a computer communication model to add a factor to user authentication without requiring any action by the user. User space applications, such as web browsers, e-mail readers, and such, can remain completely unaffected. Instead, the additional authentication factor is provided at the application layer, typically in an operating system, where protocols such as HTTP(s), FTP(s), POP, SMTP, SNMP and DNS are implemented. Authentication is performed by a challenge/response transaction and the client device's digital fingerprint is compared to a whitelist of digital fingerprints of authorized client devices.

Hardware identity in multi-factor authentication at the application layer

Devices and methods are provided for securing communication between a traffic management center (TMC) and a traffic controller via utilization of a field security device. In one embodiment, the field security device transmits a device identifier to the TMC upon being powered up or connected to the traffic controller. The device identifier is generally based on a combination of user-configurable and non-user-configurable parameters of the field security device. In response to the TMC authenticating the device identifier, the field security device establishes a secure private network (SPN) between the field security device and the TMC.

Device and method for secured communication

Techniques are provided secured communication of data, such as in the context of a public key infrastructure (PKI). In one embodiment, the technique may involve using a private key that is bound to the device requesting the secure data, thereby making it harder for someone to copy, steal or fake. The private key may be generated by adding a filler code to a unique device identifier. The identifier may be based on at least one user-configurable parameter and at least one non-user-configurable parameter of the device.

An eraser for a dry surface erase is disclosed. The eraser includes a cylinder having a tangentially extending flat surface to thereby form a 'b' shaped member. The cylinder is provided with a covering of felt, cloth or other substance suitable for erasing material written on a dry-erase board. The felt covering extends over approximately one-third of the external surface of the cylinder. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 6B, an eraser may be comprise a half-cylinder having a tangentially extending flat surface. A cylindrical insert is inserted into the half-cylinder and is retained by friction fit or by an adhesive. The cylindrical. Insert preferably comprises a foam material suitable for erasing dry erase surfaces.

A notepad holder for a message board, including a generally flat base, a first member formed integrally with and extending substantially perpendicular to a first end of the base, and a flexible second member formed integrally with and extending substantially perpendicular to a second end of the base, the second member being opposed to the first member. A mail holder for a message board having a retaining grip, an elongate rear portion extending from the retaining grip, a bottom portion extending substantially perpendicularly from the elongate rear portion, and an elongate front portion extending substantially perpendicularly from the bottom portion towards the retaining grip, the rear, bottom, and front portions defining a cavity for retaining one or more planar objects therein. The front portion may be biased to provide a slight clamping force towards the rear portion to retain the planar objects between the front and rear portions. The rear portion may be substantially flat and the front portion curved towards the rear portion as it extends away from the bottom portion. The bottom portion may have waves formed therein extending generally parallel to the front and rear portions. The retaining grip has a substantially 'C' shape, including a substantially flat portion extending between front and rear portions. The retaining grip is attachable to an edge of a fixed member, such as a frame of a message board, the retaining grip including a tip extension and a lip on the front and rear portions, respectively, for engaging similarly shaped front and rear channels in the edge of the fixed member.

A multi-purpose hook for a message board having an edge along its front surface, the hook including a substantially flat extension member having first and second ends, a retaining grip extending from the first end, and a curved hook extending from the second end. The hook generally curves in a plane oriented substantially perpendicular to a plane defined by the extension member, thereby preferably defining a portion of a cylinder, preferably defining a substantially half-cylindrical cross-sectional shape. The retaining grip includes a substantially flat portion extending between front and rear portions of the retaining grip, and preferably extends substantially perpendicularly from the first end of the extension member. The laminate generally occupies the central portion of the board and is surrounded by the cork board allowing for convenient interaction between notes written on the laminate and notes pinned to the cork board. In addition, edging or framing is fixedly secured to the edges of the cork board and backing. The message board can also include a paper pocket retained in a cavity cutout of the cork board and backing. The paper pocket resiliently and releasably retains a pad of paper, enabling the pad to be easily replaced or the paper pocket to be easily refilled.
