A lens antenna system is disclosed. The lens antenna system comprises a hybrid focal source antenna circuit configured to generate a source antenna beam for integration with different lens structures. In some embodiments, the hybrid focal source antenna circuit comprises a set of antenna elements coupled to one another. In some embodiments, the set of antenna elements comprises a first antenna element configured to be excited in a first spherical mode; and a second antenna element configured to be excited in a second, different, spherical mode. In some embodiments, the first spherical mode and the second spherical mode are co-polarized. In some embodiments, the lens antenna system further comprises a lens configured to shape the source antenna beam associated with the hybrid focal source antenna circuit, in order to provide an output antenna beam.

Techniques for three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of a dynamic scene as a set of voxels are provided. One technique includes: receiving, by a processor, image data from each of two or more spatially-separated sensors observing the scene from a corresponding two or more vantage points; fusing, by the processor, the image data into the set of voxels on a frame-by-frame basis; segmenting, by the processor, the image data into objects that constitute the scene; detecting, by the processor, which of the objects remain static from frame to frame, remaining ones of the objects being dynamic; filtering, by the processor, the set of voxels to remove those of the voxels corresponding to the static objects, to produce a dynamic subset of the voxels; and outputting, by the processor to a display device, those of the voxels corresponding to the dynamic objects (such as the dynamic subset) and not to the static objects.

Systems and methods may include a lift drone and a carrier drone to convey a payload. The lift drone may vertically lift the payload, alone or with the carrier drone, to a transfer location. The carrier drone may receive control of the payload at the transfer location, such as by receiving physical transfer of the payload, taking over conveyance of the payload from the lift drone, or the like. The lift drone may remain coupled with the payload or the carrier drone or may decouple after transfer.

Techniques for high-fidelity three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of a dynamic scene as a set of voxels are provided. One technique includes: receiving, by a processor, image data from each of two or more spatially-separated sensors observing the scene from a corresponding two or more vantage points; generating, by the processor, the set of voxels from the image data on a frame-by-frame basis; reconstructing, by the processor, surfaces from the set of voxels to generate low-fidelity mesh data; identifying, by the processor, performers in the scene from the image data; obtaining, by the processor, high-fidelity mesh data corresponding to the identified performers; and merging, by the processor, the low-fidelity mesh data with the high-fidelity mesh data to generate high-fidelity 3D output. The identifying of the performers includes: segmenting, by the processor, the image data into objects; and classifying, by the processor, those of the objects representing the performers.

Systems, apparatus, and methods to deploy safety equipment from a drone are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a sensor to gather environmental data and an analyzer in communication with the sensor. In this example, the analyzer is to identify an anchor site based on the environmental data and produce an assessment of stability of the anchor site based on the environmental data and model data. The example apparatus also includes one or more actuators to deploy a securing device in response to the assessment of the analyzer indicating the anchor site is stable and to deploy the safety equipment.

Techniques and mechanisms for interconnecting circuitry disposed on a transparent substrate. In an embodiment, a multilayer circuit is bonded to the transparent substrate, the multilayer circuit including conductive traces that are variously offset at different respective levels from a side of the transparent substrate. Circuit components, such as packaged or unpackaged integrated circuit devices, are coupled each to respective input and/or output (IO) contacts of the multilayer circuit, where the conductive traces and the IO contacts interconnect the circuit components with each other. In another embodiment, the multilayer circuit is a flexible circuit that is bent to interconnect circuit components which are disposed on opposite respective sides of the transparent substrate.

Various embodiments are directed to techniques for employing a camera to receive multiple light transmissions conveying at least identifying data from multiple body-carried devices to enable locations of those devices within a venue to be determined and transmissions to individual ones of those devices to be made. An apparatus to communicate via light transmissions includes an analysis component to analyze a set of consecutively captured frames of a portion of a venue to determine whether a light source present in at least a predetermined number of the consecutively captured frames is a light transmission from a body-carried device located within the portion of the venue, and to demodulate the light transmission to retrieve an identification (ID) data associated with the body-carried device from the light transmission; and a communications component to employ the ID data to wirelessly transmit a command to the body-carried device. Apparatus, methods, and systems described herein are for segmentation, handshaking, and access control solutions for Opendots technology. One embodiment described a charging pad that includes a plurality of conductive strips, switches, and decipher circuitry. A switch is coupled to the plurality of conductive strips whereas the decipher circuitry is coupled to the plurality of conductive strips and the switch. In response to contact with one conductive strip of the plurality of conductive strips, the decipher circuitry determines whether a security password has been received. The switch allows a voltage higher than a threshold voltage level to be supplied to an external device if the security password is received by the decipher circuitry. However, the switch can also prevent a voltage higher than a threshold voltage level to be supplied to an external device if the security password is not received by the decipher circuitry.
