A system and method for creating a sealed enclosure for a loudspeaker in a vehicle body portion of a vehicle are provided, the vehicle body portion including an inner body panel having a first internal surface and an outer body panel having a second internal surface, wherein the inner body panel and the outer body panel are spaced apart to define a cavity therebetween. The system includes at least one insert member arranged to be received within the cavity and coupled to the first internal surface and the second internal surface to partition the cavity and create the sealed enclosure for the loudspeaker.

System and method for creating a sealed enclosure for a loudspeaker in a vehicle body portion

An audio system for a vehicle is provided with a woofer speaker having a front side for producing a required bass-range acoustic output in a passenger compartment of the vehicle and a back side having an infinite baffle. The audio system includes a bass-compatible speaker disposed in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A controller is in communication with the woofer and the bass-compatible speaker and is programmed to distribute the required bass-range sound output to the woofer and the bass-compatible speaker based on at least one of a vehicle speed and a sound output level of the audio system.

Vehicle speaker arrangement

A system and method for tuning an audio system based on a seat position. The system senses and measures any change in seat position from a default seat position and adjusts a set of modified tuning parameters to be applied to the audio system based on the modified seat position. The modified tuning parameters may be mapped to a set of tuning parameters depending on the sensed and measured seat position. Alternatively, the modified tuning parameters may be set somewhere between a minimum set of tuning parameters and a maximum set of tuning parameters based on the sensed and measured seat position.

Sound tuning based on adjustable seat positioning

A speaker assembly is provided with a housing, a first speaker and a second speaker both supported by the housing, and a controller. The controller is programmed to determine a location of the housing relative to a docking station. The controller is further programmed to disable the second speaker and control the first speaker to play a low-frequency component of an audio signal in response to the housing being located proximate to the docking station.

Removable speaker system

Embodiments herein describe an audio system that adjusts based on the location of a person. That is, instead of relying on fixed speakers, the audio system adjusts the direction of audio output for one or more speakers to optimize the performance of the audio system based on the location of a user or based on the number of users. To do so, the audio system may include a camera and a tracking application which identifies the location of a user and/or the number of users in front of the camera. Using this information, the audio system adjusts one or more actuators coupled to a speaker to change the direction of the audio output of the speaker. As the user continues to move or shift, the audio system can continually adjust the speaker to optimize the performance of the system.
