A clearance control assembly for a gas turbine engine that defines an axial direction and a radial direction and includes a stage of rotor blades and a shroud hanger. The assembly includes a case configured to be positioned outward along the radial direction from the stage of rotor blades when installed in the gas turbine engine. The case is further configured to be engaged with the shroud hanger at a first location when installed in the gas turbine engine. The assembly also includes a baffle positioned outward along the radial direction from the case to define a chamber therebetween. The baffle has a forward end and an aft end. The forward end of the baffle is engaged with the case to form a first seal and the aft end of the baffle is engaged with the case to form a second seal. The baffle, the case, or both define an inlet to allow a fluid to enter the chamber and the case defines an outlet to allow the fluid to exit the chamber.

Clearance control assembly

An airfoil assembly for a turbine engine can include an airfoil having an outer wall bounding an interior, and an insert located within the interior with a space between the insert and airfoil outer wall. A cooling hole can pass through the insert with an outlet fluidly coupled to the space between the insert and outer wall.

Turbine engine airfoil assembly

A clamping assembly includes a shaft, a first plurality of clamps, and a second plurality of clamps. Each of the first and the second pluralities of clamps includes a first wall, a second wall extending outwardly from the first wall in a first direction, and a third wall extending outwardly from the first wall in a second direction. Each of the first plurality of clamps is longitudinally spaced apart by one of the second plurality of clamps. The second walls of the first plurality of clamps are transversely spaced apart from the second walls of the second plurality of clamps. The first and the second walls of the first and the second pluralities of clamps collectively define a first slot that receives the shaft. The first and the third walls of the first and the second pluralities of clamps collectively define a second slot for receiving adjacent components.

CMC thermal clamps

A turbine frame cooling system for use with a gas turbine engine includes an outer ring defining a cavity and a hub positioned radially inward of the outer ring. The turbine frame cooling system also includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced first fairings coupled between the outer ring and the hub and a plurality of circumferentially-spaced second fairings coupled between the outer ring and the hub, wherein the first and second fairings are alternatingly positioned about the hub. The turbine frame cooling system also includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced air scoops coupled to the outer ring. The plurality of air scoops extend into a bypass stream and are configured to channel a bypass air cooling flow into the cavity of the outer ring.
