A retraction spring assembly having: a) pad clip having a lock channel and one or more assembly locks; b) a retraction spring affixed to the pad clip with two or more lock arms residing within the lock channel and a plurality of energy storage portions; and first and second retraction arms; wherein the one or more assembly locks are configured to receive the two or more lock arms and bias the retraction spring into an assembly position; during the brake apply, movement of the first and second retraction arm is toward each other and results in energy being stored in the body portion; and during the brake release, the energy stored in the body portion is released and transferred to both the first and second retraction arm to result in movement of the first retraction arm and the second retraction arm away from each other.

A brake caliper housing having: an inner body having one or more inner piston bores open toward a rotor gap; an outer body having: one or more outer piston bores open toward the rotor gap, a bridge structure which extends over the rotor gap, and a plurality of reinforcing structures included in the bridge structure; wherein a longitudinal plane passes through both the inner body and the outer body; wherein the plurality of reinforcing structures extend at an angle away from the longitudinal plane as the plurality of reinforcing structures extend from an exterior surface of the outer body over the rotor gap; and wherein one or more bridge fasteners parallel to the longitudinal plane secure the bridge structure to the inner body so that the bridge structure connects the outer body to the inner body.

A brake piston that includes a body and a cap. The cap is free to move or pivot relative to the body. The body is adapted to generally maintain axial alignment with a piston bore that is adapted to support the brake piston, and the cap is free to move or pivot relative to the body and the piston bore.

A pin cap comprising: (a) a central portion including one or more through holes; (b) one or more springing arms extending from the central portion; (c) one or more contact regions; and wherein the pin cap is configured to receive a pin from a brake system so that the one or more contact regions of the pin cap contact the pin and connect the pin cap to the pin, and the one or more through holes in the central portion assist the pin cap in expanding to receive a pin so that the central portion of the pin cap creates a gripping force on the pin; and wherein the one or more springing arms bias the pin so that the pin and pin cap are substantially centrally located within a pin bore of the brake system.

A device comprising: a pair of opposing legs; a bridge between and connecting the pair of legs; a pair of retraction spring arms attached to the outside of each of the legs; the retraction spring arms each comprising: a guide support tab connected to each of the pair of opposing legs wherein the retraction spring arms assist in retracting a pair of brake pads, and the guide support tabs guide the retraction spring arms during movement.
