In some examples, a feedthrough assembly for a medical device may include a ferrule. The ferrule defines an aperture extending through the ferrule from an outer end surface defined by the ferrule to an end inner end surface defined by the ferrule. The aperture includes a first portion having a first diameter and a second portion having a second diameter less than the first diameter. The aperture defines a longitudinal axis extending therethrough and the ferrule defines a ledge between the first and second portions of the aperture that extends radially inward toward the longitudinal axis. The feedthrough assembly further may include a conductive pin within the aperture and an insulating member surrounding at least a portion of the pin. The insulating member may electrically insulate the conductive pin from the ferrule, and the ledge and a surface of the insulating member adjacent the ledge may define a space therebetween.

Feedthrough assembly with feature for controlling component position

In some examples, a method for forming an energy storage device assembly, e.g., for an implantable medical device, may comprise partially enclosing electrodes of an energy storage device within a foil pack, wherein the foil pack includes an unsealed portion and a sealed portion when partially enclosing the electrodes of the energy storage device. The method may further comprise forming a first heat seal at the unsealed portion of the foil pack, and subsequently forming a second heat seal that is redundant with the first heat seal of the foil pack.

Energy storage device assemblies

A neuromodulation therapy is delivered via at least one electrode implanted subcutaneously and superficially to a fascia layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. In one example, an implantable medical device is deployed along a superficial surface of a deep fascia tissue layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. Electrical stimulation energy is delivered to the nerve through the deep fascia tissue layer via implantable medical device electrodes.

Minimally invasive implantable neurostimulation system

Implantable medical devices have modular lead bores that are constructed from individual lead bore modules. A given modular lead bore utilizes the number of individual lead bore modules necessary for the particular implantable medical device. Each lead bore module has a lead bore passageway and a feedthrough passageway. An electrical contact is present within the lead bore passageway of each lead bore module and the electrical contact is aligned to the lead bore passageway of a lead bore module. Hermetic feedthrough assemblies are also present within the lead bore passageway of each lead bore module. A feedthrough pin passes through a hermetic feedthrough assembly within a feedthrough passageway of each lead bore module. Each feedthrough pin is electrically coupled to a corresponding electrical contact and the medical device circuitry.

Implantable medical devices having modular lead bores

A medical device lead connector includes electrically conducting contact rings spaced apart by an electrically insulating ring and in axial alignment. The electrically conducting contact ring and the insulating ring having an interface bond on an atomic level.

Diffusion bonded lead connector

A feedthrough assembly includes: a ferrule; an insulating structure; and a seal fixedly securing the insulating structure within the ferrule, the seal comprising a glass and single-phase particulate dispersed therein; wherein the glass includes: 25% to 40% BO; 0 to 25% CaO; 0 to 25% MgO; 0 to 25% SrO; 0 to 10% LaO; 5% to 15% SiO; and 10% to 20% AlO; wherein all percentages are mole percentages of the glass.

Feedthrough assembly

Techniques are disclosed for treating arrhythmias using an implantable medical device. An implantable medical device that is adapted for implantation wholly within a heart chamber of the heart of a patient may include a reservoir containing one or more therapeutically useful doses of a drug for treating an arrhythmia. The implantable medical device may include processing circuitry configured to detect an occurrence of the arrhythmia in the heart of the patient. The implantable medical device may include a valve operable to be opened in response to detecting the occurrence of the arrhythmia in the heart of the patient to release a therapeutically useful dose of the drug into the heart of the patient to treat arrhythmia of the heart.

Implantable medical device for treating arrhythmias

A medical device system for delivering a neuromodulation therapy includes a delivery tool for deploying an implantable medical device at a neuromodulation therapy site. The implantable medical device includes a housing, an electronic circuit within the housing, and an electrical lead comprising a lead body extending between a proximal end coupled to the housing and a distal end extending away from the housing and at least one electrode carried by the lead body. The delivery tool includes a first cavity for receiving the housing and a second cavity for receiving the lead. The first cavity and the second cavity are in direct communication for receiving and deploying the housing and the lead coupled to the housing concomitantly as a single unit.

An implantable medical device (IMD) has a housing enclosing an electronic circuit. The housing includes a first housing portion, a second housing portion and a joint coupling the first housing portion to the second housing portion. A polymer seal is positioned in the joint in various embodiments. Other embodiments of an IMD housing are disclosed.
