Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to scripting integration in a Web application environment and provide a method, system and computer program product for Web application integration with dialog based scripts. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for integrating a Web application with dialog-based script input can be provided. The method can include receiving a script input request from an executing script; formatting the script input request from the executing script into a Web form for a Web page and providing the Web page to a content browser; receiving form input in the Web form in the Web page from the content browser and transforming the form input into script input for the executing script; and, providing the script input to the executing script.

Web application integration with dialogue based scripts

A method for selecting a virtual machine (VM) for problem determination utilizes a policy-based process for receiving an authorized program analysis report (APAR) containing problem type, a client information handling system (IHS) environment, a configuration, and a program version. The method determines automatically that the problem according to a provisioning policy is a candidate for provisioning a VM for analyzing the problem and searches a provisioning database for an existing VM for a system environment and configuration according to a closeness criteria. The method applies required updates to the provisioned VM, and utilizes the provisioned VM with the required updates for problem analysis. The method also may automatically create a new baseline image in the database according to expected value policy criteria that exceeds predetermined criteria.

Accessing a problem report data store including customer problem reports. Each customer problem report includes configuration and platform data. Calculating a number of instances each platform is stored, and identifying platforms that satisfy a platform threshold. Calculating a number of instances each configuration is stored, and identifying configurations that satisfy a configuration threshold. Calculating a number of instances each platform is associated with each configuration, and generating a data structure with a plurality of nodes and edges. Each of the nodes identifies one of the platforms and configurations. The weight of the edge connecting a platform to a configuration indicates a number of instances that the platform is associated with the configuration in the data store. Identifying a weighted edge that satisfies a weight threshold, where the weighted edge connects a first platform to a first configuration and, in response, generating a test case for development of a software product.

Test case production utilizing problem reports

Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to progress indication and provide a method, system and computer program product for intelligent progress indication for script processing. In one embodiment, a progress indication data processing system can be provided. The system can include a script execution engine such as an ANT configured script execution engine, a history table, and a smart progress indicator coupled to the history table. The indicator can include program code enabled to compute an expected duration of execution of a script such as an ANT script by the script execution engine based upon measured observed durations of execution for annotated portions of the script, for instance, both for the current execution and for previous successful executions.

An anchoring method for generating an XPath expression. The method can include identifying a stable anchor in the transcodable markup along an axis shared by the selected node. An XPath expression can be generated for the stable anchor. Subsequently, an offset between the stable anchor and the selected node can be computed. Finally, the XPath expression for the stable anchor and the offset can be concatenated, the concatenation forming the XPath expression for the selected node.

A method, system and apparatus for autonomically configuring a virtual log. In accordance with the present invention, events flowing into the virtual log can be heuristically processed to determine if any events have been lost. When an event is considered to have been lost, the size of the log associated with the event can be increased. Also, the interval in which the virtual log interacts with the associated log can be decreased so as to ensure that the events will not continue to be lost. When a period of time has elapsed during which no events are heuristically determined to have been lost, either or both of the interval and associated log can be adjusted so as to increase the interval and decrease the size of the associated log.

Techniques are disclosed for incrementally rendering content in a content framework (such as a portal page provided by a portal system). Upon receiving a request for a portal page, a portal server immediately returns a response including the results from portlets which have acquired their content. If some portlets have not yet finished, subsequent content is delivered at a later time through use of one of several alternative programmatically-generated mechanisms. Capabilities of existing browsers are leveraged for several embodiments, including use of refresh headers, multipart MIME ('Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions') types, and portal pages structured using frames.

A system, apparatus and method for transforming Java Server Pages (JSPs) into pervasive computing (PvC) device specific JSPs. An original JSP is parsed for JSP tags. The JSP tags are converted to HyperText Mark-up Language (HTML) comment tags. The JSP is then transformed into a PvC device specific JSP by converting the HTML tags in the JSP to HTML tags for a specific PvC device. The HTML comment tags are then parsed for the comment tags having embedded JSP tags. The JSP tags are then restored by removing the HTML comment tag identifiers. A PvC device specific JSP is thus created.

An apparatus and method for enabling composite style sheet application to multi-part electronic documents is provided. The apparatus and method identify content of a requested electronic document and determine subset style sheets that correspond to the identified content. Certain ones of these subset style sheets are selected based on, for example, requesting device characteristics, for use in generating a composite style sheet. The selected subset style sheets are then merged with a global style sheet to generate a composite style sheet that may be applied to the electronic document for proper presentation on a requesting device.

Apparatus and method for enabling composite style sheet application to multi-part electronic documents

Techniques for processing events in a self-healing system. In one embodiment, the system receives system events, one or more of which may indicate a possible fault condition in the system. A hierarchal rule structure is used to generate a correlated event set. A determining operation determines at least one corrective action to be performed in response to the correlated event set. A deactivating operation deactivates all correlation rules within the hierarchal rule structure that are only used to generate the correlated event set. Repeated instances of the same fault condition are prevented from being processed by the self-healing system.

Ignoring redundant symptoms in modular self-healing systems

A method, system, and computer program product, by which portions of the session information that page-content is dependent upon are 'pushed' to the client from the origin server in a way such that auxiliary servers, e.g. other application servers and edge-servers, have access to the session information and fragment dependancy data to generate auxiliary-server cache-IDs for the custom pages. This enables distribution of the load away from the origin server, allowing better application distribution and scalability through more effective caching.

Method and system for generating auxiliary-server cache identifiers

A computing services grid. The grid can include a service desk coupled to one or more computing service instances. Each service instance can conform to an interface which is common to all service instances in the grid. A routing component can be disposed in the grid. Specifically, the routing component can route individual service requests to individual ones of the service instances. An instance selection service is used to satisfy QoS characteristics associated with the requester of the service. The grid further can include a service instance monitoring component. The monitoring component can monitor the performance of individual service instances charged with processing individual service requests. Fail-over logic can be configured to re-route service requests from selected service instances to others of the service instances where the monitoring component detects a fail-over condition in the selected service instances. In that regard, fail-over conditions can include error conditions and a performance deficiency conditions in which the performance of a selected service instance lags behind guaranteed levels of performance.

The present invention is a checkpoint processor configured for coupling to individual Web services through a Web services engine. The checkpoint processor can include checkpoint logic programmed to store checkpoint data for the individual Web service instance invocations. The checkpoint processor further can include restart logic programmed to restore the stored checkpoint data to a replacement for failed ones of the individual Web service instance invocations. Finally, the checkpoint processor can include cleanup logic programmed to removed the stored checkpoint data for concluded, non-failed ones of the individual Web service instance invocations. Notably, in a preferred aspect of the invention, logic can be included for identifying an asynchronous correlator for each one of the individual Web service instance invocations and for storing the asynchronous correlator in association with corresponding ones of the stored checkpoint data.
