A radial head assembly is provided that includes a collar, an articular member, an articular head component, and stem that is configured to engage the articular head component. The articular member at least partially defines an articular space within the collar when disposed in the collar.

Elbow joint prostheses

A radial head assembly is provided that includes a stem, a collar, a locking ring, and an articular member. The stem has a convex articular head on one end thereof. The locking ring has a ring wall, which has a ring opening. The ring wall has an angular outer surface and a slot configured to permit the ring wall to radially expand. The angular outer surface engages an angular portion of an interior surface of the collar. The articular member and the locking ring define an articular space within the collar. The articular space is configured to receive the convex articular head.

A kit () for use in performing joint arthroplasty is provided. The kit () includes a trial () and a reamer (). The reamer () is for preparing a cavity () in the intramedullary canal () of a long bone () with the use of a driver () and to assist in performing a trial reduction. Modular tapered reamer for bone preparation and associated method

A universal targeting apparatus includes a generally U-shaped body having one end configured to be coupled to the proximal end of the intramedullary implant and a mounting portion at an opposite end of said body. An arm is rotatably mounted to the mounting portion of the U-shaped body and includes bores defined at its opposite ends. Each bore is arranged at a different angle to correspond to the angle of a transverse aperture in the intramedullary implant. The arm can be rotated so an appropriate one of the angled bores is aligned with the transverse aperture to serve as a guide for creating targeting holes in the bone.

Targeting apparatus for use in a medical procedure

A radially expanding surgical retractor which includes a base having a thickness, the base having a first slot extending through the thickness in a first arc, and a second slot discrete from the first slot and extending through the thickness in a second arc. The radially expanding surgical retractor further includes a first handle, a second handle, a first blade extending through the first slot and connected to the first handle, and a second blade extending through the second slot and connected to the second handle.

A method of reaming an acetabulum includes the steps of: providing an acetabular reamer including a partially hemispherical shell having a shell radius, and a base including a first circumferential base segment and a second circumferential base segment, the shell including a first part on one side of the first circumferential base segment and the second circumferential base segment, and a second part on another side of the first circumferential base segment and the second circumferential base segment, the acetabular reamer further including a first non-planar surface connected to the first part, the first non-planar surface having a first curvature not equal to the shell radius, and a second non-planar surface connected to the second part, the second non-planar surface having a second curvature not equal to the shell radius; connecting the acetabular reamer to a driver; and reaming the acetabulum.

A method of connecting an impactor to an orthopaedic implant includes the steps of: providing the impactor including a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a trigger pivotably connected to the distal end, the trigger including a cam end, a push rod within the shaft and connected to the cam end of the trigger and a threaded pair connected to an end of the push rod opposite the trigger; providing the orthopaedic implant including a threaded hole; locating the threaded pair within the threaded hole; pivoting the trigger; linearly displacing the push rod; and radially expanding the threaded pair to engage the threaded hole.

Method of connecting an impactor to an orthopaedic implant

A milling system is disclosed for creating a cavity in a bone. The cavity has a cross section which has a generally triangular profile having a first side generally parallel with an axis of the bone and a second side forming an acute angle with the first side. The cavity is contiguous with a pre-existing conical cavity in the bone. The system comprises a drive shaft, a frame for carrying a cutter and a cutter for cutting the cavity. The drive shaft has a proximal end configured for coupling to a drive means and a distal end configured to form a portion of a drive joint for coupling the drive shaft to a cutter. The frame includes a shaft and a cutter mount for mounting a cutter at a first angle approximating the acute angle with respect to the shaft. The mount includes a bracket extending laterally from the shaft to a bearing configured to receive a portion of a cutter and maintain the received cutter oriented at the first angle during rotation. The cutter has a head configured to form a portion of a drive joint for coupling the cutter to a drive shaft. The drive shaft is coupled to the cutter to form the drive joint. The cutter is received in the mount at the first angle and the drive shaft forms a second angle with the longitudinal axis less than the first angle.

The cutter is received in the mount at the first angle and the drive shaft forms a second angle with the longitudinal axis less than the first angle.

An orthopaedic implant impactor which includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. A trigger is pivotably connected to the distal end, the trigger having a cam end. A push rod is within the shaft and is connected to the cam end of the trigger.
