The invention is a high electrical energy storage system consisting of arrays of high energy capacitors and their charging and discharging protocols. An array of capacitors are conductively connected together and connected to an energy source. A computer and software control the charging and discharging of the capacitor banks.

A method and compound for the purification of proteins including the attachment of a non-peptidic, small compound which simulates the affinity of Protein A for immumoglobulins to a support matrix. Once attached on the support matrix, the resulting monochloro-triazine derivative is reacted with an excess of an amino compound at a higher temperature to achieve high levels of substitution. The resulting support matrix with ligand is useful in the affinity separations of antibodies. Further, a mercapto heterocyclic system ligand may be attached to the super matrix and useful in affinity separations of antibodies.

An affinity separation method and system comprising an affinity separation media with low porosity and low non-specific binding, and a fluid containing a target compound to be isolated which is capable of binding onto the affinity separation media in a fluid mixing loop in a static filtration apparatus. The static filtration apparatus comprises an intermixing-chamber containing a filtration medium wherein a tangential flow is created for intermixing the affinity separation media and target compound in the fluid. The fluid is capable of passing through the filtration medium while the affinity separation media are substantially incapable of passing through the filtration medium. The affinity separation media are separated from the fluid by opening the filtrate outlet so as to allow the fluid to pass through the filtration medium of the static filtration apparatus. The filtrate can be thereby rendering substantially free of the target compound.

Static separation method using non-porous cellulose beads

Disclosed are methods for making small, substantially spherical bodies with a near complete absence of irregularities, holes, cracks, and the like. This is made possible by a new process wherein the coagulation of viscose is carried out before any regeneration is allowed to begin. This method is of general utility applying also to the production of rayon fiber and cellophane film.

Described is apparatus and a method for measuring the integrity of coated paper, which apparatus comprises, a reservoir for a test liquid, e.g., water, retaining means for holding a sample of coated paper which is in liquid communication with the test liquid reservoir, means for applying ultrasonic energy to the sample of coated paper, photoelectric means for continuously measuring the turbidity of the test liquid, the photoelectric means being in liquid communication with the test liquid reservoir and the paper sample, recording means electrically connected to the photoelectric means for continuously recording the turbidity measurements, and means, including pumping means, for circulating test liquid between the reservoir, photoelectric means and paper sample retaining device.
