Disclosed are an engine having a cylinder block and a method for manufacturing an engine having a cylinder block. The engine may include cylinder liners each having a cylinder space formed therein, a protruded portion formed on an outside circumference thereof, and a flat surface formed on one side of the protruded portion. The cylinder liners may be arranged such that the flat surfaces of adjacent cylinder liners are in close contact with one another. The engine may also include a liner covering unit formed to surround an outside of the cylinder liners, and an outer block which forms a cooling water chamber with an outside surface of the liner covering unit.

A continuous variable valve lift apparatus may include an input cam disposed to an input shaft, a valve elastically supported by a valve spring, a rocker arm of which an end may be connected with the valve and the other end may be connected a rocker ratio change guide, which may be slidable along the length direction of the rocker arm and the rocker arm rotates around the rocker ratio change guide according to rotation of the input cam so as to open and close the valve, and a control portion selectively varies position of the rocker ratio change guide.

A variable valve lift apparatus includes a cam, a swing arm of which one end thereof a valve is connected to and the swing arm contacting the cam, a support portion selectively supporting the other end of the swing arm, a hydraulic lash adjuster of which an oil supply hole and an oil exhaust hole thereto, and selectively supporting the swing arm according to oil supplying thereto or oil exhausting therefrom, a check valve selectively opening the oil exhaust hole and a control portion controlling the check valve for the check valve to selectively open the oil exhaust hole.

A ventilation head cover of an engine may include a head cover main body having a blow-by exhaust portion, a baffle plate disposed in the head cover main body with a predetermined distance from the head cover main body to form a gas passage with the blow-by exhaust portion, and an oil inflow prevention wall formed to an end portion of the baffle plate and engaged with the head cover main body, wherein the oil inflow prevention wall includes at least a gas passage hole to form the gas passage.

A PCV valve includes a cover of which an inlet is formed thereto, a body connected to the cover to form a hydraulic path therein and the body of which an outlet is formed thereto, a valve body including a valve head and disposed within the hydraulic path for the valve head to selectively block the inlet and an elastic portion which contacts the valve head and elastically supports the valve body within the hydraulic path, wherein a valve head gas groove is formed to a surface of the valve head that contacts the elastic portion.

A lubrication system for a fuel pump of an engine, may include at least one oil supply hole formed radially in a journal of a camshaft, an oil channel formed in a cam cap rotatably connected to the journal of the camshaft and selectively communicating with the at least one oil supply hole, a nozzle formed in the cam cap and being in fluid connection with the oil channel to inject oil to a contact portion between a pump-driving cam of the camshaft and an operational member of the fuel pump driven by the pump-driving cam, and a fluid communication control member selectively connecting the oil channel and the at least one oil supply hole in accordance with rotation of the camshaft.

A valve lift may be continuously varied by an apparatus that includes: an input cam provided on an input shaft; a mediating lever that moves upwards or downwards by the input cam and is formed with an output cam; a valve unit operated by the output cam; and a control device that is coupled to the mediating lever and is capable of changing a contact point between valve unit and the output cam of the mediating lever.

A variable valve lift apparatus may include a camshaft in which a cam is formed co-axially thereon; a variable shaft in which a groove is formed in an exterior circumference at a portion thereof, wherein the variable shaft is disposed in parallel with the camshaft; a variable guide, one end surface of which contacts the cam and the other end surface of which is inserted inside the groove of the variable shaft; a lever through which the variable shaft is rotatably inserted and on which the variable guide is slidably mounted; and a valve that is selectively lifted by the lever, wherein the variable guide selectively is inserted into the groove of the variable shaft to vary lift amount of the valve in accordance with rotation of the variable shaft.
