A user-activated modular switch assembly includes an actuator assembly slidable between a first position and a second position on a housing. A static knob or a rocking knob is selectively mounted to the actuator assembly to provide either conventional slide actuation or rocking activation of the switch. The actuator assembly configuration includes integral mounting members allowing for the direct mounting of either knob type.

Modular switch

A user-activated switch assembly includes a knob pivotally mounted in a housing. A plunger is selectably mountable in any one of a plurality of locations between the knob and a cam. The cam includes a plurality of cam surfaces, any one of which can be selected based upon the orientation of the cam and/or the location of the plunger.

Universal switch

A multi-position, multi-directional switch mechanism that provides switch actuation in multiple directions using opposing detent mechanisms. The multi-position, multi-directional switch mechanism has a sleeve that pivots within a base and an operator that pivots within the sleeve. Each of the pivoting members has a detent mechanism to maintain the pivotal members in a selected position. The spring loaded detents of the detent mechanisms are linearly opposing. The resulting multi-position, multi-directional switch mechanism achieves better functionality with fewer parts.

Multi-position, multi-directional electric switch mechanism

An electrical switch is described which comprises a housing, an operating member mounted on the housing for movement from a rest position in at least three directions relative to the housing, and at least three sets of electrical contacts, a respective set of contacts being operable by movement of said operating member away from the rest position in a respective one of said three directions. Each of the sets of contacts comprises a fixed contact and a movable contact, each of the movable contacts being carried by a common resilient annulus.
