An electric power tool comprises one or more optical waveguides which are combined with a shaped body so as to form a support element having a stable shape. The light guides may be part of optical switches or sensors. The support element ensures protection of the optical waveguides from vibrations, dust and so on, whereby a high level of operational reliability is ensured.

Electric tool having an optical control element

An optical control is disclosed which is particularly suitable for application as a switching device, regulating device or sensor device for a power tool. At least two optical waveguides are provided one of which being configured as a transmitting waveguide is coupled to a light source, a second one of which being configured as a receiving waveguide cooperating therewith is coupled to an evaluation circuitry. Both waveguides cooperate with a control element that is movable at least between two positions in which light signals of different magnitude are transmitted from the transmitting waveguide into the receiving waveguide.

Power tool with optical control

The invention discloses a power tool having a motor adapted to drive a tool, comprising at least one switching element, coupled with a controller, for actuation of the motor, the controller being configured so that the motor can be switched on for driving the tool only when the at least one switching element is activated several times in a predetermined way, or when at least two switching elements are activated simultaneously or in a predetermined way in succession, there being provided at least three operating modes, namely an inoperative mode, in which the motor is out of operation, a working mode in which the motor is driven for driving the tool, and an intermediate mode, in which the user is signaled that further activation of a switching element is needed for transferring the motor to its working mode.

Power tool having mode controller

A power tool is disclosed which comprises a hosing within which a motor is received for driving a tool. At least one switch is received on said housing and can be operated via an elastic touch surface from outside the housing. The switch is part of a signaling circuit which is coupled to a power circuit for activating the motor when said signaling circuit is activated.

Power tool

A power tool is disclosed comprising a controller for controlling at least one operating parameter, a motor for driving a tool, at least three switching elements which are coupled to the controller, and a speed sensor for monitoring the speed of the motor to generate a speed signal, which is fed to the controller. The controller is configured so that, in dependence on the speed signal, with simultaneous activation of a first and at least one other of the switching elements, a control signal for changing the operating parameter is output, and that, in dependence on the speed signal, with activation of the first and at least one other switching element, a control signal for modified changing of the operating parameter is output (FIG.).

Power tool and method for controlling a power tool

A power tool comprising an electric motor for driving a tool is disclosed. The electric motor comprises a shaft, an armature, and a brush collector. The stator is configured as a self-supporting unit comprising first and second supporting parts. One of the supporting parts may be configured as an air guide ring allowing air to be routed between a fan and the opposite end of the electric motor along the armature and the brushes.

Power tool with a self-supporting motor

An electric power tool, in particular a right-angle grinder is disclosed, having an elongated motor housing in which an electric motor is received, having a gear drive housing at a first end of the motor housing to receive a gear drive for driving a working spindle, having a handle element which is fastened rotatably at a second end of the motor housing and in which a grip switch is arranged, and having air intake slots to cool the electric motor which are arranged at the second end of the motor housing. In addition, at least one baffle plate, which serves to deflect particles and can simultaneously be configured as a cooling panel for cooling electronic components, is preferably located in the flow region of the air intake slots.

Electric power tool with rotatable handle

The invention relates to a power tool, in particular to an angle grinder, having a quick clamping device for fastening of a tool between a clamping flange and a counter flange. Such quick clamping devices are usually equipped with an actuation element, during the transfer of which from a clamping position into a release position the clamping is neutralized. In the quick clamping device according to the invention, the actuation element returns, on its own, and in a controlled way, when in the release position and, by accident, the motor of the power tool is turned on. For that purpose, an eccentric being mounted on the actuation element acts with its running surface onto a cam in such a way that it retains the eccentric due to the frictional force acting between the cam and the running surface. A rotation of the cam caused by starting the motor reduces the frictional force in such a way that the cam, being prestressed by a spring, moves, on its own, the actuation element out of the release position into the direction of the clamping position.

Power tool having a quick clamping mechanism

A power tool is disclosed, having an elongated motor housing in which an electric motor is received, having a gear drive housing at a first end of the motor housing to receive a gear drive for driving a working spindle, and having a handle element which is fastened rotatably at a second end of the motor housing and in which a grip switch is arranged. The handle element is rotatable with respect to the motor housing into at least four predefined angular positions that are preferably offset from one another by angles of 90&deg;, and can be snap-locked in them.

A power-driven hand tool is disclosed, having a housing in which a drive for a tool is received, having at least a first handle which is fastened to a support that is attached at a first end to the housing and with a second end projects laterally out from the housing. The support has at its second end at least a first receptacle for attachment of the first handle in a first position such that the first handle projects with one free end in the direction of the housing. Preferably a second receptacle is also provided, for attaching of the first handle in a second position angled with respect to the first position. In addition, a second handle, which is preferably is configured as a switch handle and is displaceable into various positions about its longitudinal axis, can be arranged preferably at the opposite end of the housing. A particularly ergonomic posture and fatigue-free operation are made possible.

Power-driven hand tool

A power tool, which is preferably configured as a right-angle grinder, has a motor-driven hollow spindle to drive a tool, which is fastened between a clamping flange and a counterflange by means of a quick clamping device via a tension spindle, coaxial with the hollow spindle, that is tensioned in the axial direction by means of elastic elements and is displaceable in the axial direction relative to the hollow spindle, by means of a clamping lever, between a clamped position in which the tool is nonrotatably retained between the flanges, and a released position. The clamping lever is mechanically coupled to the motor switch by means of a link rod in such a way that the clamping lever can be moved into the released position only when the motor is switched off. This rules out improper operation and any potential damage to the power tool.

The invention proposes a grinder having a rocking shaft adapted to set a grinding tool into an oscillating movement about a rocking axis fixed to the device, the grinding tool having a grinding surface comprising at least one corner area. For the purpose of extracting the grinding dust, there is provided a suction hood, which can be fixed on the device and which communicates with a suction pipe. In order to prevent the risk of surface marks forming during micro-finishing of surfaces, and at the same time to guarantee efficient dust removal, the grinding surface is designed as a continuous, closed surface, without any openings, the suction hood enclosing the grinding tool from above and at least part of the lateral faces of the grinding tool. The suction pipe opens laterally into the suction hood in an area opposite the corner area of the grinding surface. Further, the suction hood comprises a suction chamber extending from the suction pipe to the corner area of the grinding tool.

Grinder with dust exhaust means

The invention proposes a method for grinding plastics or glass, in particular for grinding acrylic glass, where a mechanically driven grinding tool is moved across a surface to be finished (44). Grinding is effected by a dry process, without any liquid working agent, the grinding tool performing an orbital movement, or oscillating about a fixed rotary axis at high frequencies, while the grinding dust is extracted from the marginal area. The grinding tool comprises a closed abrasive with resiliently embedded abrasive grains, a plurality of the resiliently embedded abrasive grains having, preferably, level front surfaces which are delimited by relatively sharp edges at the transition to their lateral surfaces, the greatest part of the front surfaces being oriented to extend substantially in parallel to the surface to be worked (44). The method enables plastic and glass surfaces to be micro-finished to a particularly high grade (FIG. 1).

Method for grinding plastics or glass

A portable power tool has, in order to drive a tool (12), a hollow spindle (14) to which the tool (12) can be fastened between two flanges (16, 18). The outer flange (16) is configured at the end of a clamping bolt (22) that is inserted through a central opening (17) of the tool (12) and projects at its other end out of the housing (42). The clamping bolt (22) can be non-rotatably secured at this end by means of a retaining element (20). For actuation, a clamping device (24) is provided, which can be moved, against the force of spring elements (26), between a clamped position in which the retaining element (20) is acted upon axially to clamp the tool (12), and a released position in which the tool is disengaged for manual changing. The spring elements (26) are arranged between an axial fixed stop (28) and an axially displaceable stop (FIG. 1).

Portable power tool

A compact device for clamping a disc-shaped tool on a tool spindle of a portable machine tool with a clamping anchor arranged in the tool spindle, with a clamping flange attachable to the free end of the clamping anchor, with an abutment arranged at the tool end of the tool spindle and with a manual actuating mechanism for releasably pressing the clamping flange against the abutment, thereby clamping the tool between the clamping anchor and the tool spindle. The manual actuating mechanism includes a first pressure cylinder having a first cavity and a second pressure cylinder having a second cavity, and a connecting channel between the cavities. The second pressure cylinder includes a piston delimiting the second cavity. The piston is adjustable and fixable by the manual actuating mechanism from the tool end of the tool spindle for releasably clamping the tool on the tool spindle.
