Apparatus is provided that includes a retinal stimulator, which includes an electrode array including electrodes, which are configured to be coupled to a retina of a subject's eye; and driving circuitry, configured to drive the electrodes to apply currents to the retina. The retinal stimulator further includes an elastic anchor that is coupled to the retinal stimulator and is configured to anchor the electrodes to the retina without the elastic anchor penetrating the retina. Other embodiments are also described.

Apparatus is provided including an implantable retinal stimulator, for implantation on a retina of an eye, and including (i) an electrode array including electrodes; (ii) a plurality of photosensors; and (iii) driving circuitry, configured to drive the electrodes to apply currents to the retina. A variable flexibility adhesive system may adhere a surface of a medical infusion device to the skin of a user. The system may be configured to hold a location on the surface stationary with respect to a site on the user's skin. The system may include an adhesive substrate for adhering to the user and an interface where the substrate is held to the surface of the device. The interface may totally and/or partially surround the stationary location. A skirt of the substrate may totally and/or partially surround the interface. Parts of the skirt may be stiffened. Optional features may include tabs for activation of the adhesive and/or a location for peeling the infuser away from the skin. Additionally or alternatively, the interface may have variable flexibility. Additionally or alternatively, the stiffener may include a plastic layer.

Adhesive structure for medical device

An apparatus for use with a biologically-compatible-fluid pressure source, the apparatus includes an elongate carrier, adapted to be inserted through a proximal opening of a body lumen, and a piston head coupled to a distal portion of the carrier. The piston head is adapted to form a pressure seal with a wall of the lumen after the carrier has been inserted into the lumen, and to be advanced distally through the body lumen in response to pressure from the fluid pressure source. Apparatus is provide for use with a fluid pressure source, including an elongate carrier, adapted to be inserted through a proximal opening of a body lumen, and a distal piston head coupled to a distal portion of the carrier. The piston head is adapted to be in direct contact with a wall of the lumen when the carrier is inserted into the lumen, and to be advanced distally through the body lumen in response to pressure from the fluid pressure source. Additionally, the piston head is typically adapted to facilitate passage of fluid out of the lumen from a site within the lumen distal to the piston head.
