A display device includes a base layer and a display element layer. The base layer includes a first area and a second area, and the display element layer is disposed on the base layer. In addition, the display element layer includes a first light sensor disposed in the first area and operating at a first operation frequency; and a second light sensor disposed in the second area and operating at a second operation frequency higher than the first operation frequency.

An electronic device includes a display panel and a biometric information module. The display panel includes red-light emitting elements, green-light emitting elements, blue-light emitting elements, and light receiving elements that are spaced from each other. The blue-light emitting elements emit blue light in a biometric information mode of the electronic device. The light receiving elements receive at least one of red light and green light in the biometric information mode of the electronic device after the blue-light emitting elements have emitted the blue light. The light receiving elements generate electrical signals in response to the at least one of the red light and the green light. The biometric information module is electrically connected to the display panel and generates biometric information about a skin of a user based on the electrical signals.

Electronic device and method of measuring biometric information using same

A display device includes a display panel, an input sensor, and a readout circuit. The display panel is configured to display an image. The input sensor is disposed on the display panel, and incudes transmission electrodes and reception electrodes electrically insulated from the transmission electrodes. The readout circuit is connected to the input sensor, and includes a first transmission/reception circuit, a second transmission/reception circuit, and a control circuit. The first transmission/reception circuit is electrically connected to the reception electrodes. The second transmission/reception circuit electrically is connected to the transmission electrodes. Display device and an operating method thereof

A display device includes a display panel displaying an image, an input sensing layer disposed on the display panel and including a plurality of sensing electrodes, and a sensing controller electrically connected to the input sensing layer and operating in at least one of a first mode and a second mode. A position of a first external input applied to the input sensing layer is sensed in the first mode, biometric information of a second external input applied to the input sensing layer is measured in the second mode. The sensing controller converts a sensing signal sensed from the input sensing layer based on a correction value determined based on parameters of surrounding environment to generate a correction sensing signal, and the sensing controller measures the biometric information from the correction sensing signal in the second mode.

A display device includes a display panel that displays an image, an input sensor arranged on the display panel and including transmission electrodes and reception electrodes electrically insulated from the transmission electrodes, and a readout circuit connected to the input sensor, wherein the readout circuit sequentially outputs a transmission signal to a portion of the transmission electrodes corresponding to a body composition sensing region and receives a reception signal from a portion of the reception electrodes corresponding to the body composition sensing region.

A display device including a display panel that displays an image, an input sensor disposed on the display panel, and a readout circuit that receives sensing signals from the input sensor and outputs a moisture level signal, in a skin measurement mode. The readout circuit divides the input sensor into a plurality of blocks, selects a valid sensing block based on the sensing signals from the plurality of blocks, and outputs the moisture level signal based on the sensing signals from the valid sensing block.

A display device includes a display panel and an input sensor disposed on the display panel. The input sensor includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode. The first electrode includes a first sensing pattern having a first opening defined therein. The second electrode includes a second sensing pattern having a second opening defined therein. An electronic device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; an input sensor disposed on the display panel and including first electrodes and second electrodes electrically insulated from the first electrodes; and a sensor controller electrically connected to the input sensor, the sensor controller configured to drive the input sensor in a first driving mode or a second driving mode, wherein: in the first driving mode, the sensor controller is configured to measure a variation of capacitance between the first electrodes and the second electrodes to generate location information of an input, and in the second driving mode, the sensor controller is configured to use a first portion among the first electrodes as a transmission sensing electrode and to use a second portion among the first electrodes as a reception sensing electrode to analyze a body composition.
