A display apparatus includes a light-emitting diode, a driving transistor configured to control a driving current supplied to the light-emitting diode, a compensation transistor connected between a second terminal of the driving transistor and a gate electrode of the driving transistor and configured to compensate for a threshold voltage of the driving transistor, a first connection electrode configured to connect the gate electrode of the driving transistor and a first terminal of the compensation transistor to each other, and a driving voltage line on an insulating layer covering the first connection electrode, covering the gate electrode of the driving transistor, and having an opening overlapping the first connection electrode.

A display device includes a gate line and a data line on a first substrate. A first passivation layer disposed thereon has a first contact hole. A second passivation layer on the first passivation layer has a second contact hole. A common electrode is disposed on the second passivation layer and a residual pattern is disposed on a drain electrode. A third passivation layer, having a third contact hole, is disposed on the common electrode. A pixel electrode, connected to the drain electrode, is disposed on the third passivation layer. A groove is defined between the first and second passivation layers. The common electrode has a open circuit from the residual pattern thereof.

Display device with reduced manufacturing cost and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a display panel including gate lines, data lines, and pixels connected to the gate lines and the data lines, a data driver configured to apply data voltages to the pixels through the data lines, and a common voltage generator configured to apply first and second common voltages to the pixels. The pixels connected to odd-numbered gate lines of the gate lines are connected to the data lines disposed at a first side thereof, the pixels connected to even-numbered gate lines of the gate lines are connected to the data lines disposed at a second side thereof, and the common voltage generator is configured to apply the first common voltage to the pixels connected to the odd-numbered gate lines and apply the second common voltage to the pixels connected to the even-numbered gate lines.
