In response to activation of a SIM in a terminal device, the SIM requests device information from the terminal device. The device provides the device information to the SIM and the SIM formulates a communication comprising the device information and subscriber information and causes the communication to be transmitted to a network.

Automatic device configuration to receive network services

A subscriber identity module includes at least one processor and logic that, when applied to the processor(s), results in a terminal device providing a device identifier to the subscriber identity module. The subscriber identity module forms a message including the device identifier and causes the terminal device to communicate the message to a network.

Identification of SIM based device

An interactive education tool for graphically representing components of a complex system. When the user selects a displayed component of the system, the tool provides educational information relating to the selected component. A user may then 'drill-down' further into the display of the system in order to obtain additional information regarding the selected component.
