A luminance compensation method for a display device includes measuring a luminance of each of white grayscale values, measuring an actual luminance value for each of colors, determining a target luminance value for each of the colors based on the luminance of each of the white grayscale values and a luminance contribution ratio of each of the colors, determining a luminance compensation amount for each of the colors based on the target luminance value and the actual luminance value, and compensating for input image data for each of the colors based on the luminance compensation amount.

Luminance compensation method for display device

A display device includes a display panel which includes a pixel including a driving transistor and a light-emitting element, and a sensing line connected to the pixel. A sensing driver senses a first sensing signal corresponding to mobility of the driving transistor through the sensing line, and processes the first sensing signal to output first sensing data. A driving controller receives the first sensing data from the sensing driver, generates mobility compensation data and kickback compensation data based on the first sensing data, and converts image data into compensation image data by the mobility compensation data and the kickback compensation data. A data driver converts the compensation image data into a data signal and provides the data signal to the pixel.

Display device

A display system includes a measurer, a measured data filter and a compensation data generator. The measurer measures an image at a measuring point of a display panel to generate measured data. The measured data filter removes a false measured data outside an allowable range among the measured data. The compensation data generator generates representative compensation data compensating the image based on the measured data in which the false measured data is removed.

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a driving controller, and a data driver. The display panel is configured to display an image based on input image data. The driving controller is configured to determine whether the input image data include a display quality deteriorating pattern. A method of driving a display panel includes determining a present polarity of a pixel data signal of a present frame, generating a first compensated grayscale of the pixel data signal of the present frame using a pixel data signal of a previous frame, the pixel data signal of the present frame, and the present polarity, and displaying an image using the first compensated grayscale. The first compensated grayscale varies according to the present polarity.

Method of driving a display panel and a display apparatus for performing the same

A display apparatus includes a controller which generates control signals and outputs image data, a compensating circuit which receives a portion of the control signals from the controller and generates a compensation signal, a voltage generating circuit which converts an input voltage to a driving voltage and increases or decreases a voltage level of the driving voltage in a frame period in response to the compensation signal, a driving part which receives the control signals and the image data from the controller and receives the driving voltage from the voltage generating circuit to generate a panel driving signal, and a display panel which receives the panel driving signal from the driving part to display an image.

The temperature sensor senses a temperature, the timing controller includes a dynamic capacitance capture ('DCC') block, which converts a green data, a red data and a blue data into a green compensation data, a red compensation data and a blue compensation data, respectively, based on the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor, and the data driver converts the red compensation data, the green compensation data and the blue compensation data into a data voltage and outputs the data voltage. The division correction block receives the corrected grayscale data to create first division grayscale data and second division grayscale data having a grayscale value less than or equal to a grayscale value of the first division grayscale data. The correction block includes a first correction block and a second correction block. The first correction block receives the grayscale data and includes a one-dimensional lookup table to create corrected create achromatic color grayscale data. The second correction block includes a three-dimensional lookup table and an interpolator.
