The present invention relates to a mobile robot and a method for controlling the same. The present invention provides a mobile robot using the rotational force of at least three rotating members as a movement power source and a method for controlling the same, in which the mobile robot is controlled to effectively travel along a set curved driving path and not deviate from the set curved driving path, or to immediately return to the curved driving path when deviating from the set curved driving path.

Provided are a cleaning robot and a control method thereof. A control method of a cleaning robot using a rotational force of a plurality of rotation members as a motive power source for its driving, includes: driving the cleaning robot by rotating at least one of a first rotation member performing a rotational motion around a first rotation axis and a second rotation member performing a rotational motion around a second rotation axis; determining whether the cleaning robot reaches a wall surface during its driving; and driving the cleaning robot along the wall surface by rotating at least one of the first and second rotation members while maintaining one side surface of the cleaning robot to be in close contact with the wall surface when it is determined that the cleaning robot reaches the wall surface.

Robot cleaner and method for controlling same

Provided are a cleaning robot and a control method thereof. The control method of the cleaning robot including a first rotation member and a second rotation member each performing a rotational motion around a first rotation axis and a second rotation axis according to the present disclosure includes: obtaining acceleration of the cleaning robot and at least one of rotational loads and rotational speeds of the respective first and second rotation members, during driving of the cleaning robot; determining whether the obtained acceleration is abnormal and whether at least one of the obtained rotational loads or at least one of the obtained rotational speeds is abnormal; and determining that an obstacle is detected when the acceleration is determined to be abnormal and at least one of the rotational loads or at least one of the rotational speeds is determined to be abnormal.

Provided herein is a robot cleaner. The robot cleaner includes a main body, a driving unit provided in the main body and supplying power for traveling of the robot cleaner, first and second rotary members respectively rotating about first and second rotational axes based on power from the driving unit to provide a movement power source for traveling of the robot cleaner, and allowing cleaners for wet cleaning to respectively be fixed thereto, and a controller determining a cleaning traveling pattern of the robot cleaner and controlling the driving unit such that the robot cleaner travels, while sequentially repeating forward movement and backward movement according to the determined cleaning traveling pattern.
